In Camden Maine After Mom's Hip Operation

My first bit of time to myself......

I stood here {and had an ever so naughty smoke}
after having coffee with a few lady acquaintances that I have in Camden.
It was bliss.
I am hoping that if I can pull off moving up here they will develop into deeper friendships

This is the adorable Boynton - McKay Food Co.
in Camden  Maine.
EST. 1893
Originally it was a drugstore...
take a look at some of the original meds that the restaurant uses for display.
At the bottom of this post I have a link to this shop-
the link takes you to the HISTORY page of their web site.

Yummy Coffee and yummy everything else.
You really never know who you will see here.
This part of Maine is filled with artists & writers.

I haven't had time to post ,
much less leave comments since I have arrived.
I do miss all my blogging friends terribly...
I can not thank you enough for all the words of encouragement
and every other little sweet word left for me in my comments of my last post.
So,
I am sorry for being such  a blogging SLACKER.
I will try and catch up with my comments....
but everyday brings a new Doctor/Specialists schedule for my mom.
I will try.
I will try.
I will try.

When I got home this afternoon......

Mom made me this blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice-cream.
Mom had picked all the wild blueberries herself last summer to make this amazing cobbler.
I am gaining the weight back that I lost when running
then closing my shop.

No matter how hard and long I walk or hike...
still
I am gaining weight.

Gaining weight is a sure way for me not to feel very good about myself!!!
I have to watch it!

I will be walking every chance I get.
Besides.....you never sweat here!!!
That's how I like working out!!!

Miss you all
XXOO

The Road To Maine & Mom

I am heading to Maine on Wednesday - June 6th 2012.
My mom has had hip surgery,
and for those of you who know her....
she is doing great.
Her spirits are up for the first time in a long time.
And I really need to be with her now.
Too many people that I know have lost their mothers
and do not have the gifted opportunity that I have today.
There will be gratitude in every day that I spend with her.

My heart belongs to Maine in more than just one way.
I love Maine as much as Paris, and as much as NYC.
There is something incredibly mystical about it.
I have tried to put a few images in this post to explain my
reasons for being 'A MAINIAC.'

The red dot is where I will be.
Mom's place is right on the water.

Camden Maine's harbor and shops.
THE BEST!!!

My favorite fruit.
Blueberry anything....is my favorite.
They grow wild all over mom's property.

Lobster!!!
The first sandwich I will devour!!

I have sailed since I was small
and have always thought that horses and sailboats were incredibly majestic.

In Maine....
they have 'THE SEA' and it's dramatic,
and takes me to another world.
A Better World.

Maine is 'MOODY'.....

and melancholy.
I fit in perfectly.

While canoeing in back of my mom's house....
I met this guy!

The beauty ranges from this to.....

this.

..and this.

When I am in Maine I am going to decide on whether to move there.
I have always wanted to but was tied to my house and this town.
Now my daughter is all grown.
She is 24.....and on her own journey.

This will begin a new chapter in my life.

Wish me luck!!

Have you been to Maine?
What did you think?

love and kisses - moi

Extraordinary Swimming Pools

This image reminds me of when I would use the rooftop pools in NYC.
I believe this is taken in Singapore.

The odor of chlorine in an enclosed swimming pool
has always bothered me.
I see here that you can open the doors.....
....I might give it a go in this pool.
It is fabulous.

OH LOOK!

A 'Dexter' pool

The above two images are taken from a hotel you must see
on THE AMALFI COAST.

I have provided the link below to the left.

Have a great weekend.

Barcelona - Luxury Digs

This historic building is in Barcelona and built in 1904,
by Domenec Boada.
The stained glass in the first two images I adore.

I think the design work in this luxury apartment is outstanding.
I am loving the broad striped walls.

I love the kitchen as well.
Small but efficient .

An upholstered screen separates the dining area from the kitchen.
Clever and stylish.

And i like the mantel very much.

The bedroom is masculine and architectural.

This guest room is stunning.....

BUT
I am not sure if the walls are upholstered or papered .
YOU TELL ME???

Garden Containers And Planted Steps

This is a sweet temporary idea.
Very Cute.

I love these heads filled with succulents and flowers.

In the right place.....cute.

Bicycle planters - one of my faves.

I have done this filled with orchids is pots in an old L.V. suit case.

I think these cork containers are
without question my favorites from the lot-

I would only like the wall covered in pots in terracotta.
....and brimming with green or flowers.

Too tedious for me.

I think I would like to try this at my Mom's in Maine....
but in stone.
I will be there on June 6th till.....

Have a great day!!

Which did you like best??

About Renée Finberg

I have been in this business since the age of 22.

I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.

Design Challenges are great.

And because of those challenges

I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,

Designed and Manufactured Furniture,

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.

Private Paradise
