A Parisian Home Speaks

Loulou de la Falaise's apartment.

Yves Saint Laurent's muse, and a designer in her own right, she instinctively knew this lofty space was right for her. I see this as a home with pure personality. Definition of Personality:the quality or state of being a person ,the condition or fact of relating to a particular person ,the complex of characteristics that distinguishes an individual ,the totality of an individual's behavioral and emotional characteristics ,a set of distinctive traits and characteristics ,distinction or excellence of personal and social traits ,a person having such quality b: a person of importance, personal characteristics that make one socially appealing.
Shall I say , more like , ' A Real Person ' lives in it ?
To me it shouts warmth, confidence and character.
I am always trying to get people to collect and display.
What can be better than cuffs, or several amber necklace-strands, or coral, giant black coral beads.....whatever. You would not believe how simple it would be to fill an interesting bowl with costume jewelry.
See.........confidence ! Now, I do not like this particular
vignette, but I would never suggest a change or an improvement ( I don't do that anyway , it's rude) to a person who had such a personal stamp on their home as she has.
And there are non-designers with homes that are as fabulous as this one.
So, I love confidence in all design !!!
Nothing really matches = Character.
Nothing really matches = warmth.
Nothing really matches = confidence.

There is however, an extreme art to achieving a look that says;
"it all just fell into place this way."
You know..............it is all studied.

  2. Beautiful home!
It does show off her personality.
I love being surrounded by my sentimental possessions (chotchkies!).
I agree with you, display is an art.

  3. No doubt one of those amazing penthouses one spies from a walk along the Seine. One where the the curtains blow out the open casement windows and a soft golden light can be seen inside.

I think I am quite envious of her bracelets!!!

About Renée Finberg

I have been in this business since the age of 22.

I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.

Design Challenges are great.

And because of those challenges

I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,

Designed and Manufactured Furniture,

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.

Private Paradise
