Use A Feather

Feathers have embellished our surroundings for centuries, including what we wear.
Nobody wears feathers like Cher, no?
Feathers are glamorous.
Fabulous really.

Below a picture taken from from my design website,
I have two tall matching floral arrangements on either side of an elevator door and on the very top are feathers.

*And for those of us who suffer from perfectionism, I suggest using a feather when beating yourself up for not doing something perfectly!
This SOFT feather will do just fine.

Feather trims for pillows, floral arrangements, even on a sofa instead of bullion fringe.
Yes, sewn into upholstery. It is wild and beautiful if done in a way that you have to look twice to realize it is trimmed in feathers. Not too outrageous, just a tiny 'pop' that is a quiet 'wow factor'.

  2. Very creative post. I have a crush on the swooping floor lamp. Renee I hope the retail world will be kind to you today. After dealing with the public all day, I reject phones, crowds, & conversation. Must be why I love the blog world! Restful evening to you & put those feet up! ~

  3. Hi Renee,
Love all the feathers and your elevator entry/design so elegant! Beautiful! You make me laugh....and know us all so well with the perfectionism bent! (something I'm still working on). I have a rich brown feather wreath like the last photo hanging in my bedroom. To dust....take it outside on a windy day! Cher does wear feathers the best and so does Lucy...remember that feather headpiece she wore performing in one of her episodes? Fun post as usual...a feather in your cap for sure! Have a great day!

  4. AW, I feel for you at retail hell....I don't miss my stint with that. Sore back and creative-starved torture with a angry frustrated manager. Not fun. Thanks for asking about my dad - he is doing well. XO

  6. Hey Renee!

I couldn't find your email address on your site..but wanted to know if you had a 100w x 60h blog button we could put on our Material Girls site. We are updating the look of our Blogroll section and are trying to gather pictures from each blogger's site to put on there next to their blog link.

If you have one, you can email it to emily@materialgirlsblog.com

    Thank you so much!

  7. Funny, because I was just mentioning on another blog this morning, my prized peacock feathers in my college dorm room years ago. I loved those things.
