Anytime at all....

 I am missing NYC.
I am missing Carnegie Hill around 94th and Madison. It gets very quite there after 6pm. Just like it is quiet in the morning until about 7:45 am during the week.
During the weekend it is a perfect neighborhood. It is. It is quiet there, maybe just kinda' sleepy and very relaxed.
People are walking their dogs, taking their kids to the park.
Some just gettng the morning paper and a cup of coffee.
I miss NYC.
This time of year is so very cozy there. It is just great to take long walks down Madison, with someone you love, or even a run through the park (to get away from the one you love lol).
Or......You could sit and watch the world go by.
Sweet.

A Georgian Horse Farm

A FAMILY BUILDS A HORSE COUNTRY HOME THAT SAVORS THE PAST
Architecture by Allan Greenberg/Interior Design by Cullman & Kravis
Text by Gerald Clarke/Photography by Durston Saylor

Published October 2009 in Architectural Digest

I have loved the Georgian era most of my life.
So much so, that I gave my beloved horse the show name of
'Georgian Gentleman.'

His barn name is Hershey. A barn name is what you call him all the time.
The show name is what is announced over the loud speaker when you and your horse enter the ring at a horse show for competition..

I just love this living room.
I would love to get dirty at the barn, then clean up and spend time right here.

Or here.

....And definitely here.
But, is this too formal for you?
I like 'formal', I just like it best while wearing jeans and a tee shirt.

I am still looking for the horses in this feature.......

But......

Because it is a Tuesday today,

I am off to work with and play nice with my co-workers at the showroom.
It is a fabulous  'cast of characters' , (with me included).

Have a great day. xx

I Am Just Not Feeling It

FOR HIM !!

Sure, he had a beautiful wife, and a baby on the way. It was a brutal murder, by someone who
"I won't even mention the idiots name."

It was clearly a horrible tragedy.

This is the home that Sharon and Roman were living in when the murders took place.
No one has ever moved in it since.
* Candice Bergen lived there before they did.

The day after the murders.

And here he is after his arrest when the child molestation charges was pursued.

It is odd, the La Bianca's were also brutally murdered (by the same group of idiots) the next night, after the Tate Murders.
I do not recall any survivors of  the La Bianca brutal murders giving drugs to a 13 yr old girl and then raping and sodomizing her. HMMMMM ? Do you ?
Did I miss something here ?

Our government's 1st mistake was giving in to all the initial pressure from Hollywood in the first place.
The era in which this all took place was a wild one in so many ways. But that does not excuse this. Does it?
And what of the 'tragedy' for the 13 year old girl ?
I know she is over it, and doesn't want to revisit it.
' The crime' is what this is all about. For a moment, remove the players and just look at the crime. It is a revolting, brutal thing to do to anyone. Ever.
Much less a little girl (or a young boy). How vile can one be to violate an innocent.

I really don't know what can be done now.
Do You ?
It all seems ridiculous to me.
Roman P. is 75 yrs old now.
Was it because he was rich that he was not left in the slammer ? If so....it is sad.

The whole long story is sad.

Garbo's Closet

"Mauritz Stiller who brought then-19-year-old Greta Gustafson to the United States in 1925. A three-time Oscar nominee, Garbo was given a special 1954 Academy Award for her “unforgettable screen performances.”

*Of her legendary desire for privacy, she remarked in a 1928 interview—one of the few she ever granted—“I wanted to be alone, even as a child. I used to go to a corner and think... Thinking means so much, even to small children.”

I have never seen this picture (above) of Miss Garbo. I was thinking that this could be a model or movie star from a recent film or a fashion mag.

Sometimes my mother will tell me about how she loves this 'movie star' or that 'starlet', I take one look at them and say to myself; "when was ugly pretty?"
In the 1950's, the 40's, 30's ....what was up with physical beauty's standards back then??
Physical beauty does go 'in and out' of fashion .

Greta Garbo is the exception to all the rules.
Classic Beauty.
Then and Now.

I lived in Manhattan from 1974 - 1984 on East 58th. Street.
I walked to and from work on East 58th Street every day. I also walked my Shit-Zu up and down E. 57th, and then down on 1st Ave.
Guess who I saw all the time?
Guess who stopped and talked to me and my little dog when ever she saw me?

That is right! Greta Garbo.

And this is Miss Garbo's Closet

The “closet room.”
*The “closet room,” which Garbo created from a small library, is highlighted by one of the carpets she designed for her 1962 series, Birds in Flight. Over the closet is part of her collection of hats; others are stacked on a carved and painted Russian provincial tea table from circa 1880. Garbo chose the upholstery and drapery fabric, which features African tribal motifs.

Isn't this magnificent ?

*A living room wall adorned with artwork.
For Garbo, color was essential in art and décor, and she surrounded herself with vibrant hues. “I love color,” she once said. “With me it’s inborn. I just know. I didn’t have to learn it.”

I really can't believe how much I love this place.
I love her artwork, her interior color scheme, and the placement of her art and objects.
To me, it is perfection.

What do you think of Garbo' place ?
Do you likie??

Innocent Again

Yom Kippur
known as the Day of Atonement
and it is the holiest day of the year for Jews

So, I am thinking WHITE.

*White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection.
White means safety, purity, and cleanliness. As opposed to black, white usually has a positive connotation. White can represent a successful beginning. In heraldry, white depicts faith and purity.
In advertising, white is associated with coolness and cleanliness because it's the color of snow. You can use white to suggest simplicity in high-tech products. White is an appropriate color for charitable organizations; angels are usually imagined wearing white clothes.

I really love winter white. To me it is incredibly rich elegant.
Especially when accented with touches of gold as shown above.

This tiny chandelier is so pretty....but it would go best in my closet.
Thank you very much!

This pic is so old. It is from my files, and I do not know where it is from. But I am drawn to industrial touches too. Like the table. I love almost anything on wheels.

This kitchen shot has been all over the blogosphere, and I don't know where I grabbed it from. But the chairs are 'forever.' Right ?

Okay, Today I asked G-d for forgiveness for all my sins from this past year.
It was a brief conversation.
Because I am such an angel....LOL.

This last image speaks to me.....it is saying;
"If you are a virgin (again), and an angel (again), come take a bubble bath in me.

I love this bathroom. The little gold chair makes it.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.
