I Want To Quit
About Renée Finberg
I have been in this business since the age of 22.
I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.
Design Challenges are great.
And because of those challenges
I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,
Designed and Manufactured Furniture,
Created Fantastic Window Treatments,
And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues
With my unique style.
If I can't find it, I create it.
My rooms would make excellent movie sets.
I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.
Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.
Just Great Design.
Just imagine how it would be if each of us,
If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be
Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,
The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.

All I can say is...I love you. This is hysterical. I don't want an 8" forehead either but mine is sooooo wrinkled. I say this as I bounce along in the car on my way to the lake for even more sun...I just can't help myself. I have to be outside. Thank the Lord for sunscreen and bangs.
ReplyDeleteThis was a hoot! OMG that hair, those 8 inch foreheads, not a pretty sight! I am all for aging gracefully (with a little help here and there) little being the operative word!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who has done so much botox, her face is so shiny and taut that when I need a mirror I just look at her forehead! She is always wondering why I as looking at her as intently as I do...lol.
Thanks for the laugh...I needed one!
Hilarious Renee!! I don't know I am needing more and more anti aging cremes!!
ReplyDeleteI know you can stop!! You don't want to get those smoke wrinkles around your lips!!

I know, you know I know. ( the smoking not the facelifts, the hell with them)
ReplyDeleteTalk about one day at a time.
I'm rooting for you.

I'm cheering you on & this is coming from a person with little self-discipline. I admire those that can set a goal & hit the mark. As for facelifts..you are so right, I don't want that goofy look either. Every man and woman over 65 are starting to look way too much a like. I so dislike getting old, but I hate worse looking like a fool. Just know no matter what the outcome, we love you!

are we sisters? omg. i tried those but ugh. i keep saying i am going to try again. are they working for you?
ReplyDeleteOk: this is from someone who quit in 1989..after a few stops & starts beforehand..and NEVER went BACK! You CAN do THIS. Try the electronic thingy or gum or patches or Chantix or ALL of them. I quit cold turkey but that is another story. I have family members who quit using Chantix and friends who quit by using the gum and the patches. Whatever you do, it is, for sure, moment to moment and day to day. Lots of positive self talk and reminding yourself WHY you WANT to QUIT. Maybe sit down and make a list before you quit, outlining all the reasons you just don't want it to be part of your life anymore. Then when you have those moments when you are ready to bite yourself, you can read the list, curse yourself and the cigs and hopefully hang on for another 5 minutes until the madness passes. It DOES get easier as the days pass. When you make it to 90 days you basically are home free. NOT the HARDEST thing I ever did...but pretty dammned CLOSE!! SO worth it! Have never regretted it for a MOMENT..the quiting. Kicked myself a BUNCH for EVER starting in the first place. Good luck & God bless!
ReplyDeleteHi Renee,
ReplyDeleteWell, I gave up smoking about 25 years ago when I did smoke a packet a day !!!! I used the patches and they worked for me. It might have been psychosomatic but, that's how I did it. My husband, who was a scuba diver and used to emerge from the sea with two ciggies on the go, gave up, just like that !! After the initial shock !! it gets much easier and, we want you to reach 100 !!
As for face lifts and botox and fillers, well, I have yet to see someone who looks better after any of those processes. I am 60 now and it's all heading south but, I have had my youth and I'm embracing my mature years !! I don't think that there's anything worse than a face that has been lifted, a trout pout but, flabby arms and a crepey neck !! haha
After looking in the mirror, I just get the bottle of red or white wine out and everything takes on a blurry look and I look much younger !!!! XXXX
enchanted....
ReplyDeletei ml happy to give a chuckle.
if we can't
laugh, them what is there ....really?

GOOD for you...
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny!!! The hairline...
Good for you!!!!!!I wish you the best of luck. I tried to smoke when I was younger, but I wasn't good at it...I would drop them, flick the ashes into someone's eye, or light the wrong end.....Let me know how the electronic ones work.....Maryanne xo
ReplyDeleteToo funny!! We just use lots of creams, sunscreen and more creams. You are beautiful and will age beautifully, so no worries for you! Good luck in your quitting smoking!
ReplyDeleteXO Angela and Renee
That's My Girl. Stay healthy,
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you
my Darling Girl.

I'll be rooting for you! Never mind the lungs... smoking is dreadful for the skin!
ReplyDeleteAnd you have educated me. I never knew why some of those ladies had such receding hairlines. Now I do!!
I've never smoked...ok for a week back in high school. I'm so thankful I never got hooked. I have friends that smoke I think it really ages their skin. If anything else do it for less wrinkles.
ReplyDeletegood luck,
Carole
Oh my gosh - this is so funny. And living in South Florida - I see that look all the time. But I know what you mean. Just on the other side of 50 - I am beginning to wonder if I should let nature do it's thing - or at least get a little neck and eye lift. I already have a high forehead so there is no way I am getting that done!
ReplyDeleteTHAT'S WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT....
ReplyDeleteVANITY!!!!
the best reason to quit of all!
Smoked for almost 9 years, finally quit when my daugter was born. It was not easy and I had setbacks for a few months off and on but when I stopped finally I felt and looked so much better. My skin really glowed after about 6 months and of coures i don't have to tell you all about the health risks, it is not easy but you will be glad you did.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteBest gift you can give yourself!
Oh geez...I never thought of the hairline...that is a horse of a different color. Yikes...one more thing to think about when pondering the facelift. As if the pain wasn't enough.
