A Georgian Horse Farm

A FAMILY BUILDS A HORSE COUNTRY HOME THAT SAVORS THE PAST

I have loved the Georgian era most of my life.
So much so, that I gave my beloved horse the show name of
'Georgian Gentleman.'

His barn name is Hershey. A barn name is what you call him all the time.
The show name is what is announced over the loud speaker when you and your horse enter the ring at a horse show for competition..

I just love this living room.
I would love to get dirty at the barn, then clean up and spend time right here.

Or here.

....And definitely here.
But, is this too formal for you?
I like 'formal', I just like it best while wearing jeans and a tee shirt.

I am still looking for the horses in this feature.......

But......

Because it is a Tuesday today,

I am off to work with and play nice with my co-workers at the showroom.
It is a fabulous  'cast of characters' , (with me included).

Have a great day. xx

Satisfaction

The best way to poison (your enemy) of all is living well. Doing better than you did yesterday. Killing with kindness. But, genuine kindness.

Yesterday I wrote the biggest sale of the day, $19,000,00 in window treatments and bedding.
This is a tiny amount compared to what I used to sell in my own design practice.
This Is My Specialty.
Selling DESIGN - something that exist only in my head, And will never exist until an order is placed and a deposit paid.

Today I struggled....my manager was short, curt, and it seemed like plain old angry with me. I try so very hard to please....as I have discussed in previous posts.

I finally said to her ., "Sandra, I am sending you all good thoughts, pink puffs of love all day, and every day. And yet you are angry and short with me.
Of course, she looked at me like I was weird, and cocked her head. She was puzzled.
But you see, I am quirky. This is a big part of  'my charm'. Or so I have been told by those who love and LIKE me.
And yes, me who is ridiculously sensitive was crying a bit. But when I cry (even a little) my eyes and the surrounding skin turn really red and super blotchy. [No hiding that from the coworkers]
Later I was in her office .....Sandra said to me, " Why are you so overwhelmed ?"
"Maybe you should go home. You can't sell.."
I told her,"I am not overwhelmed, my feelings are hurt." And "I will be fine after a cigarette and a coffee."
I also said; "And just to spite you, I am going to make a big sale and get another house-call lined up !!"
She finally smiled

I MEAN IT !!

The Lunatic is.

When I got to work the other day the Lunatic was all weird and nasty towards me. If I came in the room, you would think I had 'COODYS' , he would leave it. Then he proceeded to huff & puff, pout, stomping around the showroom, and giving me dirty looks.

Tomorrow is Saturday. Retail 'Hell Day' for most of us in the business. I still have not seen Medusa since the situation. (stated in my previous post) My days off are Thursday & Friday.
So.....tomorrow has yet to unfold.
Why, why, why does this crap go on on sales floors.

I just must repeat over and over to myself;
"I will not be intimidated" "I will not be intimidated" "I will not be intimidated"

I am too sensitive for this stuff.
If only the economy would kick back into gear, I could finally work for myself once again.

Big Group Hug Please!!!
I need one. I am feeling some anxiety about tomorrow. Maybe I can be a 'Scaredy Cat' for Halloween.

I May Have The Key, But The Door Is Still Too Small To Fit Through!!

This is a design issue that I dealt with the other day at work .....
The client had a small unused room in their home that they wanted to utilize as a
a very cozy TV / media room.
They had purchased a leather Natuzzi sectional. After waiting 6 months for the custom piece...
it would not fit in the room. No way, no how! They tried everything.
They explained that the door to the room was too small, and later.... after much probing,
they explained the hallway to the room had angles as well.

They were stuck with this custom sofa and were now forced to use it in the living room.
Which they did not want to do....but they didn't know what else to do with it. And now, they were forced to redecorate the living room too. ( boo hoo)

This was an expensive mistake for them!
As a designer I love stories like these.
Not that I wish people to make costly mistakes,
but it just makes sense to get professional help when making big design decisions and spending big bucks.

So, if you have a small doorway to the entrance to a room, and the hallway to the room has angles.........

I have a solution which that they were very happy with, and you might be too.....
MODULAR SEATING.

(love this sofa)

If you wish to, you can fill a room with seating....wall to wall with a modular sofa.

Alternatives to modulars sofas (which technically are individual seats added to one another to make a sectional)
are love seat sized ARMLESS sofas. You can add more pieces just be aware of the size. Don't go over 72" on the armless sofa.
If you absolutely need to have arms, you can add the corner pieces of the sectional..
*armless is easier to get into tight halls and small doorways. To get more ideas go here-

Have a great day! :)

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.
