Without A Hitch

My 'unofficial' school reunion went as planned.
It was a small group of us, just about 35 or 40.
The Island gang.
Me - 2nd. from the left
This is only a small portion.
It was a lovely event
held in the most appropriate place imaginable for this gifted group.
Most of the gang learned to sail right here at the above yacht club.
This is where the party was.
It was at night, and it was beautiful.
You could have actually thrown a baseball to the house I grew up in.
We could just glance across the water and see our childhood homes,
where we played as kids.
We all water skied, sailed, and spent out days on this bay.
Beautiful Biscayne Bay.
There is NOTHING like it.
It is what makes Miami & Miami Beach so amazing.

More girls from The Islands.
starting on the left; Debbie, Missy, Janine
Debbie ....the doll.
In spite of the lovely night that went off 'without a hitch.....'
(thank you lisa and howie)
I woke this morning feeling sad
and 'out of my stirrups'.
I was once again filled with all the old feelings
that I would rather not feel.
You know the ones....

But they come
and they go.
Just as my confidence and sense of security does the same.
It was extremely difficult for me to place names with faces.
I wasn't great at making friends with EVERYONE.
Mainly because I was only close with 2 or 3 girls all through 12yrs -17.
I felt 2 or 3 was plenty. I was a bit moody and private.
My 3  friends are 'mixers' and were comfortable 'mingling.'
I am still no 'mingling freak'
'One on One' is my comfort zone.
My one friend kept saying;
"how can you not remember 'so and so' ?"
"we all walked home from the bus..." or
"don't you remember when we all....?"
I started to think,
am I senile already?
Or
was I just in my own world?
....which is much more likely.
But.....

I didn't really feel comfortable in my own skin back then.
My skin today suits me just fine.
I have a whole new set of issues....
hahahahah

I am so proud of the individuals that I grew up with.
They are all 'SOMEBODIES'

Do you like reunions?
Do they leave you feeling off your game??

I could stay in bed....

But I must suit up and show up at work....
This is exactly the kind of bed suits my mood today.
Bethany::She actually looks like this,
and dresses like this.
But she stands upright at all or meeting.....promise

My dear sweet client whom we shall call Bethany
is anxiously waiting the installation of her NEW home.
Which will take place part of this week and most of next.
We are all excited.
It is going to be 'HOT".
The colors are granny smith apple green, peacock, and a touch of fushia.
The carpets are wild.

At the end of my day
I will be driving to Miami Beach to reunite
with the kids I went to elementary school with.
I will be exhausted, but it should give my heart a 'rush!!!'

XXXXX just me

Christmas Kid

I bought this card for my mom.
Because this is the kind of kid I was.
I was a tom boy until I wasn't.

When I found this card ,
it made me laugh out loud.

Laugh today.
Hug your brothers and sisters.
Make someone laugh out loud.
I will try and keep the xmas lights out of my nose this year.

*you know who you are....
and i love you xxxx

PS I sent my mom a slightly different card.
...still funny though

I am way too early......

To meet up with my bloggie pals at Cafe Flores.
So, I will do what I love to do-
Walk in Paris at dawn.
The town is a bit sleepy,
but the professionals are up
and walking to work, grabbing their fresh baguettes,
cafe,
and smoking ....
all at the same time.
GEEEZ...I  love this place.
I needed to come
and just 'be' in Paris.

You can still see the lit trees because of the early morning light.
They are as beautiful as they are at night.
Just in a softer way.
After getting lost in the atmosphere of Paris,
and lost in my head....
I am feeling really happy.
Really Happy!!!!!
And here it is.....
Cafe Flore.
Our designated meeting place.
I wonder if the girls are here yet?
Most of the gang is here!!!
We have all decided to go inside....
it is a bit too cold outside.
My breakfast arrives.
I am loving this!!!
I have sort of mentioned to the girls that I am still on a quest to find Santa Claus.
I suggest my favorite street to walk
Rue De Grenelle.
It is long and narrow
with the most fabulous boutiques and specialty shops.
I have had the most wonderful afternoons on this sweet street.
And so we go....

Look!!!!
OMG.....Look!!
 It's Renae Moore.!!!!
I should have known that we would find her in
Harry Winston
I am just going into C.D. for a quick peek.
I have found a lovely frock.
I will,
however,
have to find some stilts to wear under
the beautiful skirt portion of this dress.
Or I could always hire a few circus midgets to carry me around.
Do you think anyone would guess?
They would just have to be very quiet.
No talking or giggling!!!

If I can not find stilts or circus midgets.....
I could always ride a unicycle
under the dress.
The unicycle would raise me up to the right height
for this fabulous skirt's length.
Awww....
one of our bloggers is cold and tired.
But doesn't she look fabulous???
A few posts ago I was talking about finding Santa.
I have!!!!
For me...
he is right here!!!
{inside that building}
In Paris.

A Christmas Wish

The word is out!!!!!

That we bloggers want PARIS lights and nights.
And we want to get there on
The Ole' Air France Concord.

It will be 'The Blast' that the bloggers have earned
from their dedication to their blogging
and to their friends
in the blogosphere.
: )
And I want to take this moment
 to thank all my friends
in the Blogosphere.
You have been there for me.
And it has meant  the world to me.
You know who you are.....
I love you.

I wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year.
XXX's
Back to Paris......
As soon as we get off the plane.....
(while avoiding the paparazzi)
we all hop a cab and head on down to our favorite parts of town.
*The city of Paris is divided into 20 different neighborhoods
called  arrondissements
Arrondissements are named according to their number.
Mine are the 6th and 7th arrondissements
with parts of the 14th
on the left bank.
In the taxi....
I am continually, and annoyingly
bugging everyone to stay by me on rue de Buci......
...but, no luck.
All we bloggie gals know what we want.
Don't we?
We will however,
all meet for breakfast at Cafe de Flore
( 2 blocks from me )
Sound like a plan?
This is what we will see riding from the airport
to our B and B's,
or our 4 star hotels.
Me.....
I am a boutique hotel kinda' gal.
Which are you?
Enjoy the ride
XXXX's

Christmas Windows that rival Manhattan's.

Lip Gloss anyone?
Good Night and Sweet Dreams

See you around 9:00 AM at Cafe de Flore ??

:: I am hoping your holiday is a happy one
filled with love and fun!!

About Renée Finberg

I have been in this business since the age of 22.

I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.

Design Challenges are great.

And because of those challenges

I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,

Designed and Manufactured Furniture,

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.

Private Paradise
