What Would ZENYATTA Wear?

The breeders cup is this Saturday.
Tomorrow.
Zenyatta is the darling of America at the moment.
When she retires after Saturday's race
(at 6 years old and over 17 hands high)
she may go down in history as the greatest horse.
EVER!

I watched her videos and this girl loved to dance before the races.
She knows she is a star.
And that is why I have tied her to Cyd Charisse
Cyd was a thoroughbred herself.
Such gams
Only Zenyatta has 4
beautiful legs/gams instead of only two!!
You might not totally 'get this post' unless you watch the videos that are attached.
Zenyatta actually makes all of Cyd's moves before the race.
That is why Cyd is here.
Yep.....just like Zenyatta.

Mike Smith is her Jockey
and he LOVES her.
In the interview with 60 minutes he says when asked ;
"when they retire her, which horse do you think is good enough to breed with her?"
he said with a tear in his eye;
" No one ''
I am hoping and praying for her last big win!!!

If you love 'BEAUTIFUL'
won't you love Zenyatta.??

XX's my heart is in this one.

Got A Shovel?

I kept rolling around in bed last night
waking occasionally in fear
Did I order a table for a client
that is too big for the space?
It is going into a 2 walled banquette area
that is in a family room.
The area is adjacent to a passage way.....

I gave into the clients pressure
to order this pedestal table because
of the specific look.
'Pottery Barn-ish'
I guess the worst that will happen
is that we can pop the top off and re-size it.

I hate this......
as I am typing
I am freaking internally.

I found the long blurb below
by happenstance
 and thought it was interesting.
Maybe you will too.
huh? maybe??????
YOU perfect blogger you!!!

Fear of Failure:
Perfectionists are also much more afraid to fail than are high achievers. Because they place so much stock in results and become so disappointed by anything less than perfection, failure becomes a very scary prospect. And, since anything less than perfection is seen as ‘failure’, this can lead to…

It seems paradoxical that perfectionists would be prone to procrastination, as that trait can be detrimental to productivity, but perfectionism and procrastination do tend to go hand in hand. This is because, fearing failure as they do, perfectionists will sometimes worry so much about doing something imperfectly that they become immobilized and fail to do anything at all! This leads to more feelings of failure, and a vicious cycle is thus perpetuated.

Perfectionism is one of the traits associated with obsessional behavior and like obsessionality is also believed to be regulated by the basal ganglia. (so this is the problem area)

Sometimes
I just want to dig that thing
out of my head!!!!!

Gotta a shovel??
XXX's just me

Whoa......

I was sweating bullets all weekend.
On Saturday I designed an entire
family room around one particular fabric and area rug.
*They are very specific colors
The place was 'bought and paid for'
if you follow me.
All case goods, upholstery, and the area rug.
They are all special orders
which mean NO CANCELLATIONS
or money back.
If I had found out today
that the fabric was discontinued,
I would have been
scrambling around, and freaking out
trying to come up with an alternate.
And
I already knew that there wasn't one
with the company I had ordered from.
I would have had to EVERYTHING all over again.
I just couldn't take it-
redesigning, re-selling, blah blah blah.

However...
it was Good News for me
today after I spoke with the factory.
Yippie!!!

I must say,
 design and the tedious details
can be more of
a thrill ride
than you might like.

Certainly more than I like.
But, that's just the deal.

Hope you had a great Monday XXX's

I am going to sleep now my eyeballs are on fire.

Come Inside...

and see the interior of this Georgian home
done by Joseph Minton.

This is the most fabulous space.
Check out the Chinoiserie piano.
The potted palms, the wall brackets, urns, etc etc.
I love this.
( i would prefer less blue...but that is just me)
There is so much thought and
'accidental perfection.'
It doesn't seem 'decorated.'
It just looks as though someone worldly,
sophisticated, and fabulous lives here.
And isn't that our job??
-To make people,
with enough money to hire us
look like they are
WAY BETTER, WAY COOLER,
and WAY MORE FABULOUS
than they really are???
heheheheheheh
no really,
it's true.
I have soooooooooooo many stories.
Because of this dining room...
Isn't it wonderful to be inspired????
I am doing a job now-
where I making the dining room a library,
with the dining in the center of it.
It will be great.
When you do the classics-
you don't really ever have to
re-decorate unless you choose to.
(uhh oh!!!)

Would you rather live in
a classically designed home
or a home styled with latest trends?

-choose trends,
so that we designers will continue to have work.
please please please

No judgement here,
I am just curious.

oh yes...............
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Meow Meow
...a table for two,
and a bowl of milk please!!!!

later.....i am off to work XXXX's

The Ocean Floor

I am loving this rug.
“Alpha” is an exquisitely handcrafted carpet, bold in simplicity but far-reaching in effect. This eco-conscious rug utilizes surplus wool yarn that would otherwise go to waste. GoodWeave certified and handcrafted in Nepal using a traditional Tibetan knot.
Patterns begin with fragment of a familiar motif into something more abstract. Traditional organic patterns make an appearance, though they seem faded, as if printed on textiles left too long in the sun. The collection is hand-tufted in 100% New Zealand wool and silks, with jute and flax as accents.
LOVE THIS ONE
I could do a room around this rug in my sleep.

Phoenix by Carini Lang

A small scrap of Ming Dynasty-era textile inspired Phoenix. Re-scaled and re-colored by Joseph Carini in intense hues, the pattern soars from past to future. Carini Lang employs high tensile strength hand spun silk, pure botanical dye and complex Tibetan knot techniques from antiquity to craft this carpet.

The magical textures and colors of the ocean floor create an underwater wonderland. The creatures and plants live together in a beautiful, flowing world that changes with the seasons and tides. The Ocean Floor 10'x12' tapestry is hand-tufted in New Zealand wool, designed by Angela Adams.

I was wondering.....
what do you think of the carpet above?
The ocean floor?

I thought it was really unusual.
Of course I think it would look best
in a contemporary or a modern setting.
with as little competition as possible.
I think that because
it would be much less work for me
::
Blues, purples, and more blues are not
what I am most comfortable working with
as far as layering goes.
I would end up focusing on the greens.

I would love to see what
someone else's 'fresh eyes' would do
with the ocean floor carpet.

i am going to bed now...tomorrow is a retail design day for me XXX's

I have been in this business since the age of 22.

I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.

Design Challenges are great.

And because of those challenges

I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,

Designed and Manufactured Furniture,

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.
