The Eden Roc On ' Millionaires Row '

This is my favorite lobby. They have maintained the integrity of the original design. Thank G-d ! Because ,when I was very little , before I knew I was a designer, this place always had me at ' hello'. I used to sit in the lobby and look at every detail,
I was about 9 years old.
I spent almost every Saturday here ( with my best friend Sandy Marigo), because we would ice-skate next door at The Fontainebleau. Then we would eat at the Eden Roc because they had better milk shakes and fries.

I can tell you first hand that The Spa at the Eden Roc is sublime. The best I have been to. I am no professional spa critic.....but, trust me on this one.
Below are some of the guests, artists who performed at the Eden Roc, and a sampling of the 'hanger outers'.
It is said that Nat King Cole wrote the song here.

In case Ed Sullivan was before your time....................

Let me tell you..............growing up in Miami Beach was exciting, as far as ' showbiz' goes.
And food, let's not leave out the great food.

I spy Henny Youngman, Jerry Lewis, a young Andy Williams, Milton Berle........

You can see me , I am the one with the Big Blonde Hair on the beach.
I can't help having big hair, I was born in Houston Texas ! :0

The junior high school that I attended was right behind these buildings. It was called Ida M. Fisher Jr. High.

I have never had a cupcake like a ' Yankee Doodle ' !! It was made in an open air bakery at the end of this block, and across from the school. We would go after school and fight over who would get the last one. But, we had to be quick about it, or the bus would leave.
You can find this fellow in South Beach too.

And this fellow as well.
Have a great weekend ! xx

Outdoor Showers And Cabanas

I love this so much, I wonder if it would fit in my living room.
{ I could put mean people inside for ' TIME-OUT '. LOL }

1926 Colony Hotel & Canana Club - Delray Beach Florida. If you stay here , you will not need a car. You can WALK to everything. It is a chic seaside village.
For many years I had a cabana at a historical cabana club in Delray Beach Florida. It was called The Colony Cabana Club, c. 1926. My cabana was on the the other side facing the ocean.
If you should get down to the Palm Beach Area, this is the the hotel to stay at in
Delray Beach !
East Atlantic Avenue in Delray is a civilized, artsy, gentile version of South Beach.
It is ' HOT ' & Happening! Fantastic cafes and people watching - everyday of the week.
Let's get back to the topic. Outdoor showers & cabanas.
You could put these up in the spring, and take down in the fall. Or you could leave them up all year and store cushions inside.
Isn't this charming ? You know, that if you wanted any of these....they are very do-able.

This is a place I have wanted to go forever. Someday.......
This must be in a mountain home, or it should be. No ?
Think about your outdoor space. What could you do to make it more inviting and livable ?
Something that would engage you in the outdoors a bit more. Spending 15 minutes showering, then drying off, and laying on a lounge for 10 minutes would really make you feel good !! You are going to spend that same amount of time inside showering. So, this is not a time issue.
Is it ???
This reminds me of summer camp.
This is what I'm talking about.....
Wouldn't this yard be great with an outdoor shower, and or cabana ?
If you do not have privacy, build 2 walls.
There is nothing like coming home from work, and showering outside. Then you wrap up in a robe, and finally relax on your chaise, while having your wine & cheese. You can watch the sun go down and read, listen to music , or just pass out from exhaustion!! LOL

You Can buy one of these and leave it free standing or put it in one of the gorgeous canvas cabana - tents. I love them.

And here I am , in my beautiful body { hee hee}, and in my out door shower.
[It is amazing...it looks like I have lost 30 lbs since yesterday}
Wouldn't you want something like this in your garden or backyard ?
If you are laying in the sun, you could use it just to cool off periodically, right ?

Can We Do This Quickly ?

This is an Oasis on Key Largo ,in the Florida Keys.
This is the pool at the house in Key Largo.......let's keep moving.....

[ Now , I am running around getting ready for this guy, my brother. He is flying in from Nevis with his wife today]
So, if this post is not seasoned enough with my dark & sarcastic humor, then I do apologize.
Since I am rushing.......OH LOOK , it's a pool !
Nice. We love venetian mirrors, don't we ?
Well, my evil twin Brenda loves them !

See ......the ocean ! " CHOP CHOP " , let's keep moving please.

White silk sofas. These must be really clean people , with really clean friends, and really clean pets.
Oh yes.......they probably have no pets. C'mon, let's keep moving........

Isn't this nice ? Hurry , hurry !
I told you I have got to get going............
Okay. I 'm done.
until tomorrow , xxx's
If you would like to know more,I have the site below that will take you right to the article.
Read the article:

Antiques And Country Pine

"This is a very fine George I Mahogany and Rosewood Crossbanded Bureau Cabinet. The upper section has a domed and broken architectural cornice centered by a carved crest with urn finials sitting above two arched glazed panel doors that open to reveal 45 drawers and 19 pigeon holes. The hinged door bureau section opens to a leather inset writing slide, two book stands, drawers, a central cupboard and even more pigeon holes! Eight serpentine drawers are below enclosing a kneehole cupboard and drawer flanked by brass mounted pilasters. The original piece was circa 1740 and is now in the Althorp Estate."

I don't need to say a word about these.

Well , maybe one word; fabulous!!
I have seen this style dining room chair, but not the counter height and bar stool. This I will keep as a source.

This, I love. Bamboo trim is my fave.
