I May Have The Key, But The Door Is Still Too Small To Fit Through!!

This is a design issue that I dealt with the other day at work .....
The client had a small unused room in their home that they wanted to utilize as a
a very cozy TV / media room.
They had purchased a leather Natuzzi sectional. After waiting 6 months for the custom piece...
it would not fit in the room. No way, no how! They tried everything.
They explained that the door to the room was too small, and later.... after much probing,
they explained the hallway to the room had angles as well.

They were stuck with this custom sofa and were now forced to use it in the living room.
Which they did not want to do....but they didn't know what else to do with it. And now, they were forced to redecorate the living room too. ( boo hoo)

This was an expensive mistake for them!
As a designer I love stories like these.
Not that I wish people to make costly mistakes,
but it just makes sense to get professional help when making big design decisions and spending big bucks.

So, if you have a small doorway to the entrance to a room, and the hallway to the room has angles.........

I have a solution which that they were very happy with, and you might be too.....
MODULAR SEATING.

(love this sofa)

If you wish to, you can fill a room with seating....wall to wall with a modular sofa.

Alternatives to modulars sofas (which technically are individual seats added to one another to make a sectional)
are love seat sized ARMLESS sofas. You can add more pieces just be aware of the size. Don't go over 72" on the armless sofa.
If you absolutely need to have arms, you can add the corner pieces of the sectional..
*armless is easier to get into tight halls and small doorways. To get more ideas go here-

Have a great day! :)

Use A Feather

Feathers have embellished our surroundings for centuries, including what we wear.
Nobody wears feathers like Cher, no?
Feathers are glamorous.
Fabulous really.

Below a picture taken from from my design website,
I have two tall matching floral arrangements on either side of an elevator door and on the very top are feathers.

*And for those of us who suffer from perfectionism, I suggest using a feather when beating yourself up for not doing something perfectly!
This SOFT feather will do just fine.

Feather trims for pillows, floral arrangements, even on a sofa instead of bullion fringe.
Yes, sewn into upholstery. It is wild and beautiful if done in a way that you have to look twice to realize it is trimmed in feathers. Not too outrageous, just a tiny 'pop' that is a quiet 'wow factor'.

* to get feather trim go this site- click here

Where to get the tall plumes 15 to 40 inches
(they are actually wing feathers) click here

Have a nice weekend...........love to all my friends and supporters!!

I am back.....

Work is work.
Just that.
Work.
It is a daily struggle for me. I come off like a very secure , confident, professional, but still a playful person. But that is not what is going on inside my head. I am unsure of myself, and it is a struggle for me to be with co-workers. You know....other 'CORPORATE people.'

After I have been doing the selling thing on the floor with a couple of clients.....I feel as though "I've been birthin' babies !"
(That's a line from Gone With The Wind)
I am just worn out!! It is tough to be 'ON' if you know what I mean.
I just read a great book; 'Ghosts Among Us' - by James Van Praagh ( NYT Bestseller)
It was fabulous for me. Just what I needed.
It has given me a whole new way to recharge myself at any time of the day.
You have heard the saying; "you can start your day over at any time of the day!"
Well, this book takes it to a whole new level.
If you have read 'Many Lives Many Masters' you will love this a s well.
It is completely uplifting.

For one thing, regarding anyone you have ever lost in life through death or even suicide, this book will give you true comfort. For me , I have lost my Dad and I miss him a great deal. I think of him often. In this book I found out that when you think of a lost loved one who has passed on, their spirit is instantly with you.
I knew he was there all those times!!!!

Also you are given many visualizations.
For instance; if you visualize a pink aura around yourself, it will emanate love. This visualization is for protection. But you do have to think only GOOD & PURE thoughts.
It is working for me.............

So today at work I will be surrounding myself with a pink glow.

I am not a far-out person. Trust me on this. But...it can't hurt me to be open minded and try new things.
G-d knows, we all could use a better tool box to get through this life.

Three Places I Would Rather Be Today

With My Sore Feet.

Later this morning, around 9:30 am I will be at work.
We are having a crazy sale. The company I work for has blasted the air-ways.
And I expect to be very busy all day.
BUT, I would rather be........

Right HERE! * do you think if I soaked my feet in a giant martini they would feel better?
(The Langham Hotel in London - above)
(I think this Pagoda styled bar is so glamorous. To me, Pagoda is classic)
Or HERE. * I know my soul would be better in Paris.
And definitely HERE!!
*Actually, this would be easy to pull off, if only I could find the time.

Sorry for so few of posts, I still am getting settled in at the new job.
It is 60 thousand square feet of merchandise to learn.....
I miss everyone.

If You Would Like Add A Dramatic Touch Of BLACK

Try A Black Crystal Lighting Fixture.

These would make great pendants over a glamorous bar/counter.
These come in a full range of prices. From $100.00 to $$$$$$$$

Even if you would like to add one to your dorm room.....you can slap it on the wall, and it will stick!

All sources are on the bottom of each picture.

I am still adjusting to my new job.
Actually I am 'finding my way'.
New people, new product to learn, and entirely new company policies to learn and incorporate into my own designing style.
