Where do I begin? Was it the flight?

Where do I begin?
Was it the flight?

The fact that I did not actually get the opportunity to fly the big machine that
Would take me and my little love ‘Josephine – JOEY’ {shit-zsu} to our new home.

We boarded the plane at 7am arriving in Boston at 10.30am…..and we waited.
And we waited. And we waited. And we waited.

To Joey , it may as well have been a space ship taking us to another planet. Joey has never been on a plane or to another planet like Maine.

The plane we were supposed to get on
to take us to our final destination in MIDCOAST MAINE...

Well, they just kept cancelling the flights.
“Too Much Fog” they said.
This went on for 3 flight cycles…..
then I found out that
The last pilot was a ‘chic’ – I was so frustrated. I wanted to tell her….
Move the f—k over!!!

I am not afraid of fog!!!!
(big talk coming from a big chicken)

My dog had no place to relieve herself. I kept taking her into the ladies room and telling her to
Make her pee pee & poo poo. She did. I cleaned it up.
What was she to do for 12 ( and 3 more) hours????

Anyhow…with the veins in my head visibly popping out
I suggested that I would wait no longer – since there were no more flights on this night….
And that I would like a refund because I was driving by rent a car up to Rockland.
This my dears….. is an entirely other story.
At last
We reached Mom & Spruce Head Maine at midnight.
Tell me, isn't my dog a little saint?
She never made a peep or a problem.
And it was her very 1st airline trip.
I am so proud of her.

For now,
I am just praying my things arrive in one piece when the truck comes.

Later….give me some time.
I am in shock and trying to decompress.

love all my friends xoxo

  1. Tremendous! Great little story too.

  2. What a great pooch! She's a little trooper and so are you. ;^)

    1. oh.... she is a trooper.
joey has been so freaked out for the past few months.
i have been packing and she has seen all my things being removed from the house.
joey has only ever lived in my home in florida.

she is just starting to settle down now....and trust her surroundings.

  3. It is always something!!! You have more patience than I 10 hrs in the airport! I have had many trips like that in fact it took 36 hours last year to get home from Paris, and that was after 9.5 hours in the plane on the runway at CDG.

I travel with my dog who is 12 all of the time and thank God we never had something like this happen! You and your pup are saints!!

Take care of yourself, you are home and starting your new life!

    1. Elizabeth,

      thank you.
i can't imagine an international flight.
      i might freak out completely.

  4. Those who bring sunshine to the life of others cannot keep it from themselves. For you and your
amazing little Joey all the best for your new life in Maine.

  5. Finally I can breathe! Worried we were, Obi-won. I could just sqeeze your little pet (family member) for being so precious and good!

  6. I am so happy that you are finally home! Not to mention the precious Joey!
Keep us posted on your progress and what is going on there.
    Happy Friday, Renee.

  7. Renee I have been thinking of you so much! What an adventure for you and Joey!

Call when you get settled in. I know it is a lot happening at once!

  8. Oh my I feel so bad for your pup! What a trooper. What would we do without them! Relax and enjoy the beauty of Maine!

  9. Your poor dog....and you! I'm glad your finally settled.

  10. I have a shih tzu,Nicky, just ONE more reasons we'd be bff's if we could just visit in person! But I am so sad your trip was ghastly! and Joey was perfectly wonderful. Seriously she went in the ladies room? I 'm so glad youre at your destination, finally. Take all the time you need to decompress we will all be here to hear how it's going. Best of luck dear one, I know your mom is thrilled youre there. God bless you and this journey.
