'The Trade' Showroom in Boca Raton - The Progress

The view of the  front window
which will have draperies and a very fabulous soft valance that looks like this.
I have done this and LOVE it.
This soft valance will be a solid
{ I haven't decided which one to use yet }
with full sheers under the valance.
YUMMY!!
This will be in the front and in the back
of the store covering the back door.
Which is a huge eye sore to me.

This is the back view.
See the back door???

This is the office and will have glass where the opening is.
The glass will be butted in the corner.

On this wall there will be
a wall unit,
a 54" round dining table and chairs,
and a euro sleeper close to the door on the left.
It really is the best sleeper.
I will show you more later.

This is what I have been up to.
More images to come as we progress.

Memorial Day 2011

Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11, and was first observed on 30 May 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. The first state to officially recognize the holiday was New York in 1873. By 1890 it was recognized by all of the northern states. The South refused to acknowledge the day, honoring their dead on separate days until after World War I (when the holiday changed from honoring just those who died fighting in the Civil War to honoring Americans who died fighting in any war). It is now celebrated in almost every State on the last Monday in May (passed by Congress with the National Holiday Act of 1971 (P.L. 90 - 363) to ensure a three day weekend for Federal holidays), though several southern states have an additional separate day for honoring the Confederate war dead: January 19 in Texas, April 26 in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi; May 10 in South Carolina; and June 3 (Jefferson Davis' birthday) in Louisiana and Tennessee.

Thank you TEAM 6

Doggy Bathtubs And Tunnels In Manalapan

In the heart of Florida’s Gold Coast, the prestigious oceanfront enclave of Manalapan Beach lies in Palm Beach County, between the Town of Palm Beach and Boca Raton.

Buckle up.....
This cottage goes for a cool $ 20,000,000.00.

The dining room paneling is beautifully done.
This to me,
is amazing.
Look closely at the kitchen cabinets.
Behind the cabinets on either side of the stove,
the cabinets have been actually mounted on the windows.
BRILLIANT!!!!

This is the wall we will reupholster.

This is the ceiling in the master bedroom.
I could be very happy laying flat on my back in this room.
{wink wink}

and the pool....

more details

And this is 'HAL' -
he runs everything in the house.
Pretty wild isn't it?
But, there is more.

Every home needs an elevator.
I know that on some days ....
stairs look so daunting.

This is the view on the back terrace-with  a lovely fireplace.
That is the ocean across this 2 lane highway.

There are terraces all over. the front , the back, and the sides.
There is a huge pool house as well.
I think there is something like 20 thousand feet under air.

The view from the dining room.

This is one of my favorite features......
look at this picture.
You will see something
that looks like a garage under this railing...
IT IS NOT.
It is a tunnel to the beach.
It goes under the 2 lane highway straight to the ocean.

So CHIC!!!

This is my other favorite feature....
the doggie bath.

PEEK A BOO.....I see you!!
yes
that is me drooling over the many selections of onyx
that this brilliant designer used.
 He was handsome and charming.
Not a bad way to spend  a morning in Palm Beach.

What do you think of the glass kitchen cabinets,
the tunnel, and the doggie bath????

My Blog Has Been Sick....

My blog will not let me log in to it.
Google Chrome is not meshing with blogspot this week.
Blogger will not let me log-in to comment either.

I am extremely uneasy about being on exploror.
VIRUSES Galore-
I can acess my blog today from EXP.
but I hate being on it.
I don't want my laptop getting sick too.
That just would send me over the edge.

On a much brighter note.....

Well, it is coming along.
The butted glass window in the office will be sharp.

Ofcourse it wasn't done that way originally,
they only had 3 feet in each direction.
HUH?
AND.....they tried to get out of making it correctly.
* as shown in above image.

But....I started my very own
'good cop - bad cop' routine.
Whippng out the plans
and detailed drawings
that I submitted in the beginning of all the work.

In the end the drawings prevailed....
I got my way.
I must say they have been really good to me.

The left side of this picture is the front window.
AND....I am getting terribly excited!!!!!

I owe a big huge hug and thank you to Bette from IDEEZINE.
Bette got me doing these visualizations....
In addition to the visualization boards
I developed my own mantra {on my sidebar)
My visual wishes are coming true.
I feel closer to the universe than ever.
I believe that good things will happen.

And there is someone else
who I feel compelled to thank
for believing in me...when I was losing faith.

Thank You C.S.!!!

About Renée Finberg

I have been in this business since the age of 22.

I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.

Design Challenges are great.

And because of those challenges

I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,

Designed and Manufactured Furniture,

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.
