I love The Barn Rooms At The Farmhouse Inn

Fresh food and fresh interiors.

Not because I am a horsewoman.....
but I love the use of painted sliding/rolling barn doors
 in residential design.

I have used this element ( the rolling door )
in several difficult situations where a room needed to be divided
yet a pocket door was out of the question.
Also I have used this for closet doors.
It looks sharp.
I promise.

It is a pocket door {on the outside}
that adds a great deal of character to a space.
And they don't need to be white, or in the trim color of a room.
Try lacquered Chinese red.
Talk about the 'WOW FACTOR'
...... that's a guarantee!

I love them!!!

Your thoughts?

ps
... it doesn't need to be a barn door.
I have had rolling doors done with stained glass, frosted glass.....
the possibilities are endless.
The way the door is finished and the handles
will determine the design direction that you wish to go.

The Inn below was voted # 1 - check it out
go to the Farmhouse Inn
read article on the INN here
"The inn’s owners, fifth-generation Sonoma County farmers (and siblings) Catherine and Joe Bartolomei, know that you can’t start a day of hard work without a good breakfast. So I begin the day with apple sweetened ever so lightly with autumn honey."

See How Differently and Relaxed ....

The French are regarding design?

Beautiful Things easily find their place in a room.
Things are not studied to death.

The metal palm tree sculptures are personal favorites of mine.

Steal an idea from one of these rooms.
I know these spaces are not perfect,
but it really is like being in someones home in Paris.
And most importantly have a lovely weekend.

Surrounded By Crazies

Lately I am feeling like the world is topsy turvy.
People say one thing...
then they have decided that they really meant something else.
OMG!!!!
Enough of that wishy washy, 'I can't make up my mind shit.'
I would rather be with wild animals ,
they are sweeter and more predictable than what I am working with as clients.
{i am making a face and crossing my eyes while typing}

I seriously need some rocket fuel.
Strong cafe...to do what needs to be done.

So, today and tonight I have decided to take to the skies
and blow far, far away from this crazy town.
I will hook up with some of the 'old crowd.'
And will take just a teeny tiny taste of the wild side.

The wild crowd on the wild side-
is more than willing to help me Blow off some of this steam .
I just want to Scream and Shout and DANCE it all out.

After some fun I should be good as new.

And tomorrow will bring a whole new day.
A whole new way to see things.

How about you....ever get to this point?
Ever feel so frustrated you could scream?
DON"T.
JUST DANCE!!

DELISH

I think this room is delicious perfection.
The details are just so great.
You name it...
it's all here and done beautifully.
The palette is not one I would have used before,
but I think the time has come.
This room changed my mind about a few things.
I feel it is soothing and warm,
yet not dark.
And clearly,
there are no rules.

And I do dig the touches of turquoise in the mix of it.
The art is fabulous too.

This must be a girly girls place.
Ya' think?

How about you?
What do you think?

About Renée Finberg

I have been in this business since the age of 22.

I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.

Design Challenges are great.

And because of those challenges

I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,

Designed and Manufactured Furniture,

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.

Private Paradise
