Violets , Violets, Violets, Chopin & ME

Since my childhood....
this is my favorite candy.
It's hard to find.
This is my perfume most days!
It smells like my favorite candy.

My grandmother grew African Violets in her kitchen window sill.
Happy memories...

Chopin Playing Piano in Prince Radziwill's Salon  c1887

Did you know Chopin loved violets
and when he died of tuberulosis his close friend and female
novelist {George Sand} found every violet she could in Paris
and covered his grave with them.

PLEASE SOMEONE DO THAT FOR ME

                                                   Happy Monday!!  xxx

  7. Renee...this is a wonderful ode to violets! I never knew about Chopin's love of violets, how sweet of 'George' to do that for him. There is a lovely article in an old Victoria magazine about her and the beautiful home they shared in France...I look at it often, it's beautiful...this little tidbit should have been in it, and since your request for the same is in writing now...I'm sure it will happen!

Violets are starting to pop up everywhere here...whith daffodils mixed inbetween...very pretty & springy! I must now hunt down those candies...I've never tried a violet candy, it would be fun to have a taste.
    Such a sweet post!

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.
