HOMES...Painted All Black (or Dark Charcoal )

Call me crazy, but I am almost sure this is the smallest house
in Manhattan.
It is cool. NO?

I am such a BLACK lover
that I decided to find as many Black Houses that I could  in one post....
and I think each are delicious in their own way.

10 Downing St.

We know who's cool
and who lives here.
DON"T WE?

Well.....
I must admit there have been cooler P.M.s.

Fun.

I noticed my first black residential house this year
while driving through Rockland Maine.
It was so sharp.

Spooky

If this were mine...
(love bricks painted)
I would have used a black and white awning over the door
trimmed with wood tassels.

Black and full of charm,
who knew???
Are those RED geraniums ?
YUM!!!!
A natural choice to go with black or white painted brick

Grow a garden on your roof....

The above home....
I could see myself living happily ever after.

However the one above has me really thinking.
A small black patent leather house ???
That's me!!!
I mean...it would only be me living there.
YEAH!!!

Can you imagine?
Chic little BLACK playhouses.
Hmmmmmm.......
I wonder what sort of play time those kiddies have in there??
I hope they don't play with pentagrams!!!

I hope you have enjoyed my Black House Tour.

Landscape Designs 2013 - Maine - Part I of II

Spring should be ending for me later during this week.
YEAH!!!
I hope you enjoy
Landscape Designs 2013 - Maine - Part I of II

Vertical plantings are great
on a big boring wall on the exterior of you home.

I would eat in this restaurant just for the stunning landscaping!
Right?

Outdoor fire pit anyone???

You can plot a stone patio anywhere and add so much
to your outdoor living.

A log low pathway-bridge over a small stream.

Earthy.
I love this pathway.
And You?

Wild Maine.

The is no shortage of stone, slate, and granite
in Maine to utilize in all your home designs.

I dream of this lawn.
How unbelievable simple & elegant!!!

More stoned pathways.

Love the moss in between the stones.

So Maine!

And this suits me just fine as well.
Love it.

What do you think of some of the ideas?
You Likie?

Houses and Barns By John Libby in Maine

Houses and Barns By John Libby in Maine

It is still 30 degrees here in Maine.
Too Cold.
Where is spring?

So I can only dream of some of the things that drew me here.

Like Adirondacks and the sea.

The Homes.

Okay.
These sliding barn doors are brilliant.
If one could afford it,
it would be great on all windows and doors
in place of shutters.
In Maine AND In Florida for storms.

Beams.
Another love of mine.

Stone is used all over here.
It's all the natural textures that I am drawn to.

Do you love the sink???

Something very popular here
is the pebbled floor in the showers.

My kind of home.
A big porch with.....

A VIEW!!

Have a great weekend.
xx

Great Interiors With Great Ideas

*Great Interiors With Great Ideas

I just love the drapery detail!!!
When I do draperies I usually (99% of the time)
use a solid body for the drapery
and a patterned Peek A Boo fabric for a 9" turn back
(on the leading edge)
that shows when you turn the fabric back slightly
when you tie them back with ropes and tassels or a medallion.
*as shown below*
I do the reverse-
the patterned fabric on the inside (turn-back).
And the body of my fabric usually matches the paint color.
And for the final finish touch....
on the leading edge I use a 1/4 " rope welt or even thinner if I can find it.
It looks SOOOOO detailed and FINISHED!
:)

I do
LOVE doing my window-treatments!!

How about the wood application behind this bed!
Brilliant.

Again.....
Contemporary mixed with curly iron and other traditional elements.
I think the mix of the two.
WORKS.
Each style helps the other to breath.

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.
