Antiques And Country Pine

"This is a very fine George I Mahogany and Rosewood Crossbanded Bureau Cabinet. The upper section has a domed and broken architectural cornice centered by a carved crest with urn finials sitting above two arched glazed panel doors that open to reveal 45 drawers and 19 pigeon holes. The hinged door bureau section opens to a leather inset writing slide, two book stands, drawers, a central cupboard and even more pigeon holes! Eight serpentine drawers are below enclosing a kneehole cupboard and drawer flanked by brass mounted pilasters. The original piece was circa 1740 and is now in the Althorp Estate."

I don't need to say a word about these.

Well , maybe one word; fabulous!!
I have seen this style dining room chair, but not the counter height and bar stool. This I will keep as a source.

This, I love. Bamboo trim is my fave.

I Can't Help Myself

I LOVE HATS !!

But, tomorrow it is back to the business of interior design blogging.
If you haven't guessed.... this is 5th Avenue in NYC / Easter Day Parade.

"21st April 1946: Huge crowds on Fifth Avenue, New York, for the Easter Parade."

"Circa 1924: Jean Wilson gives the Easter parade on Fifth Avenue a novel touch, appearing in her modified Japanese pyjamas."
"10th April 1898: Men and women walk with their backs to the camera, wearing formal top hats and dresses, in the Easter Parade, on Fifth Avenue, looking north from below Forty-First Street, New York City."

That's why I have hired these little guys to paint, and hide the eggs.

Easter is about bunnies.

And these little bunnies.

A Little Trip To Coral Gables

Matheson Hammock Beach
This is the greatest joy I get when I drive down to Miami.

No, this is the greatest joy I get when I drive down to Miami. My favorite cuban sandwhich is called ' medianoche ' [ midnight ]. If you make it down to SOBO or anywhere else in the Miami area, get one ! Yummo !
Fairchild Gardens in South Miami.

And Into Coral Gables.

Coral Gables was developed in 1924-27 .

Here we are, let's go in.
My Fave. Absolutely !!
I am easy though, throw me a black white floor and I am happy.
The colors are so lovely. And the wallcovering, to die for .
This is a great room, only something is bothering me.
Anyone have an opinion on the cornices in this room ????? hmmmmm ????
Are they pleasing to your eye ?
This is a beautiful home, I adore the color combinations. The window treatments are mounted at the right height, right up to the molding.
OK, we are out of here !! I am going back to the beach.

About Renée Finberg

I have been in this business since the age of 22.

I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.

Design Challenges are great.

And because of those challenges

I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,

Designed and Manufactured Furniture,

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.

Private Paradise
