Now You Know Why I Want SPRING....

This is the main hwy on the way to town.
It is 2 lanes
and I can't see them.
NO VISIBLE YELLOW LINE.
HELP!!!

This is my first time driving in the snow.
Help!

This is heading home and it is NO BETTER.
People were sliding all over the place.

Home Sweet Home.
This is the driveway to Mom's House.

There is a salt water cove straight behind the gazebo and back yard.

My gorgeous aluminum furniture is buried under the wisteria covered gazebo.

This is the actual ' La Petite Gallery' of
http://lapetitegallery.blogspot.com/
fame.

Home at last.
And I made it without running off the road.
It helps that my eye balls are bugged out of my head, and
I am gripping the steering wheel so hard that there is no blood in the tips of my fingers.
And to the locals dismay............
I am driving a top speed of 30 miles per hour.
But I made it home safe.

I Need SPRING

I simply can't wait for the FORSYTHIA.

Forsythia bushes made into a staggered hedge.
How absolutely fabulous!

I have almost always used Forsythia in my jobs.
I like the long sprigs in a tall clear glass cylinder set in false water/clear resin.

Elegance in Nature.
Love it.

The Pope's NEW LID

Whom Ever Wears The Hat Best.....

Just might be the new POPE.
They only have about 20 days to choose.
Below I have given you a few of the top contenders-
and left out anyone in their 80's.
A Pope in the 1970's made some sort of ruling that 80 was too old.
{I agree}

The Lid

I have paint shopped the Pope's Hat
on a few of the men in the running.
Here we go.....

# 1
He looks really nice ,
perhaps even funny.
I love funny.

#2
So 'COOL'
He's at the beach trying on the hat.

#3
The North American - Canadian Favorite
He wanted to be very formal when he tried on the hat.

 #4
{he would have my vote if I could vote}
I looked at quite a few pictures of this man and studied his face.
He looks warm and seems to be laughing & schmoozing
a great deal.

You can see he's already ditching the old hat
in favor of the ever fabulous POPE'S LID!!

Go Lenny!!! Go Lenny!!!

Which Holy Man Would You Pick???

Tomorrow I start my new job.....
at last.

xx

A Birthday Cake For Liberace or ME

Mom's Sweet Birthday Cake
with giant marshmallows inside
A Cake For Liberace
OR ME!

When I saw my age printed on a birthday card....
I knew right then...
OH
This is why woman lie about their age.
It was absolutely shocking to me to actually see the number.

57!!!!

OMG!!!

Sometimes I have the maturity of A 16 year old
and I feel like I am 30.
But it is surely not true on either count.
I am approaching SENIOR Citizenship.
The only upside is;
medicare (if it is still provided)
and the movie discount.

I tell you this is devastating....

On a lighter note
yesterday my Mom and I went to see a movie
and were rushing to get there on time....
we stopped for the best HOT DOG imaginable in Rockland.
It is a little trailer/Hot Dog Kitchen on the side of the road.
{ I love stuff like this}
When Mom pulled up to the trailer
I ran up to the window to get the DOGS.
When I handed Mom her Hot Dog she dropped it in her lap,
she was driving,
and when she jumped up and out of the car...
IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE.
Not to worry we managed to stop just a few short inches
of the HOT DOG TRAILER.

Two Heart attacks on the side PLEASE!

A comedy of errors.
We both had a huge laugh when it was all over.

Have you ever done that?
Jumped out of the car while it was still in drive?
I have.

The movie was a comedy, and it was a good thing,
if the car episode wasn't enough
when we got in the movie my Mom was sitting on the seat when it was
in the folded up position for me to walk past her to my seat....
she proceeded to lose her balance and flip over backward over the chair
into the aisle behind us.
No worries
I grabbed her jacket and pulled her back into position.
Again...we were hysterical laughing.

In my head though I was freaking out
and thank G-D
that she didn't flip over and
get wedged in the aisle behind us or crack her head on the hard floor.
A slight stresser....NO?

Nothing else went wrong for the day

So
those Happy Juices just kept circulating through our bodies all day.
Have you had a good laugh today?
It's so important.
I hear it can cure cancer.

Hmmmm....?

Have a great day.
We are off to see Silver Lining today.

Signing Off,
Laurel & Hardy

Cold Mountain Builders - Maine

Cold Mountain Builders - Maine

Cold Mountain Builders - Maine

I love this !!!
Check out the stone wall / pathway.

'Contemporary' is alive and doing well in Maine

This is a view of Camden Harbor from the kitchen of one of Cold Mountain Builders' Homes.

There are so many wonderful places to rebuild and restore here in Maine...
Below is just one example.

In April of 2012 the Mill at Freedom Falls, circa 1834, was entered in the Register of Historic Places, and rehabilitation began in May 2012 by Cold Mountain Builders.

You can read more about The Mill at Freedom Falls HERE

About Renée Finberg

I have been in this business since the age of 22.

I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.

Design Challenges are great.

And because of those challenges

I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,

Designed and Manufactured Furniture,

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.

Private Paradise
