I think featured collections that are sometimes unusual
make a room very interesting.
It often can give ones guests a peek into
who the home owner really is
and what he or she is about.
It seems to me like the designer of this space,
Stephan Shubel
has a great deal of clarity on this aspect of interior design.
This is a Paris Apartment featured in a design magazine back in 2005.
The image above would make a great painting I think.
as featured in Elle Decor - April 2005
It is obvious to me that his work stands the test of time.
These images are taken 5 years ago, and many design blogs are featuring
items, finishes, and appointments that he used back in 2005.
Look at the pillow on the right...........
this is catching on like wild fire just now
in furniture, home design, and the bloggie world.
Do you like his work?
Could you live here?

Hi style,
ReplyDeleteI like his work..

Yes, love his work. Those rooms have so much personality and interest too them, which sets his work apart from many designers. You're right about that one image - it would make a great painting. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat 3rd pic is fabulous. I have a Swedish watercolor (1940) of a similar room. Could work...not live there....great post Ms. Finberg...Thanks..K
ReplyDeleteMr. Shubel's work is wonderful and you're right... these rooms will be as current 10 years from now as they were 10 years ago, timeless.
ReplyDeletemais OUI ! And I am not for rooms going out of style every time the wind blows anyway...
ReplyDeleteI like Stephan Shubel's work very much. To me there is a timelessness about it. He used the same type of divan's in his San Fransisco studio. I love his bedroom & floors in his fisherman's cottage. His aesthetic is very livable.
ReplyDeleteplease my friends......
ReplyDeletei must have been hallucinating or was really tired when i wrote this post.
i initially said that these rooms were done 15 years ago----:-/
excuse me, i can't seem to add.
i have corrected the post.
2005 was only 5 years ago!!!
eeek!

Oh, I could easily live in those rooms. I would write novels in them.
ReplyDeleteYes & yes! But given the rather petite surroundings MOTH would have to take his 6'6"/120kgs. elsewhere to live. I can see tears there as he tries to negotiate his way around this gorgeous space. And anyways there doesn't appear to be a flat screen to watch the Game!
ReplyDeleteMillie ^_^
I like the collars, 1900's who would have thought to do that.
ReplyDeleteIf you are awake this morning call me....
Oh Renee,
ReplyDeleteThis is my kinda look ! ... and you are so right. That would make a good painting.
I'm guilty of loving the grain sack cushions. I have quite a few of them.
It is true though. This style will never go out of fashion. It is timeless, just how good decorating should be.
P.S. I've aked your mum to place a virtual bet on a grey horse in The Derby for me !! Hehe. XXXX
