It's Coming On Springtime....

is a brilliant landscape designer.



Hayward offers amateur landscapers these guidelines:

"Don't be afraid of straight lines in forming bed edges, lawn shape, and paths, especially near the house. After all, your house is geometric; make beds near it geometric, too. Then let beds and paths curve as you get away from the house."





"......avoid putting all planting beds around the perimeter of your house 
and the outer perimeter of the lawn. "

    Springtime?!...my Cherry blossom trees bloomed at the end of February and finished mid-March. They have already lost all their blooms and regained all their fresh green leaves.

    And, the tiny apple tree at the curb is a bit confused, standing there bare with all of three rough leaves.

    I like his philosophy about straight beds, most interesting and makes perfect sense. Curve your beds & paths away from your house.

    I do think being a landscape designer is next best to an architect or interior designer. Would be an incredible career. His work looks magnificent and he looks from his smile like he'd be a blast with a glass of wine at a dinner party.

    Wow! Fantastic Renee! I was recently in the most amazing garden in an old estate in the Lake District in northern England. These photos remind me of it. It was lovely just to sit and take it all in.

    hi angie.
    my yard is a wreck.
    my trees were trashed by hurricane wilma ( which was years ago)
    but, i continue to work on it .
    it is a process.

    and don't laugh, the way the economy has gotten.....
    i was thinking of start my own design firm called the frugal designer.
    hahaha

    great inspiration renee! gordon hayward is such a talent. crazy for pea gravel, formal allees' and severely clipped box.
    i am a landscape designer and looking out the window in disgust....oh well.....those clients always come first ;-)

    Beautiful gardens --- I have some favorite landscape designers that I follow one is Ryan Gainey, a garden designer in Atlanta, ... now I think I will Gordon Hayward to that list as well, nothing is as welcoming as a lovely garden for all seasons, to come home too,
