This Place Was A Real Find!

While snooping around the Miami Herald Newspaper
I found an article that mentioned a shop in Chicago called Jayson Home & Garden.
These fixtures are part of the lighting collection.

So, I popped over.....
and found many treasures
of which this little box was just one of many.

I found some amazing accessories,
furniture, textiles, and fabulous flea market finds.

I have selected a few things that I would buy.
One is this scale....they make the greatest centerpieces.
Fill with fruit, flowers, or whatever else you might like to display.
Done.
It looks great.

*Opera Hats
I LOVE hats...
so these were a 'no brainer.'

Then I found this little porcelain item as well......
huh?
did I miss a whole new design trend???
Siamese Twins?
Do you remember these twins??

Those Who Matter Don't Mind

"Be who you are
and say what you feel,
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

Dr Suess

I am dealing with some scary financial things right now.
The stress of it all is wearing on me and sometimes I do and say stupid things.
I'm glad that I know I will be forgiven by those who matter. XX's

What do you think about this saying??

Another Lovely Sunday

Things are getting crazy where I work.....
there are definitely less customers to sell to.
And it is summer.
Summer in Florida is generally not such a great time for business down here.

*Another Lovely Sunday

It is hard to imagine that while some families went to church or made family brunch for their loved ones today...
others were sharpening their fangs.

Let me share a bit of today with you.
I work with some real old time salesmen.
Some are not so old....
just fat and loud, and PUSHY.
Some just plain old certifiable.
Really.
And let's not leave out the woman.
There are some treacherous woman.
I am not kidding.
I just try and dodge the bullets.
And I made it another day.
I can't leave out the super creepy LIARS that will tell a customer anything to make a sale.
It Is Just GROSS!!!
What am I doing here anyway???
oh...I forgot we were in a depression.
Now, I say there is no reason to go nuts over a sale.
Really....but they do.
And today we had some ugly floor fights...
Honest to G-d, it is no wonder my neck and right shoulder are killing me.
I am grateful for my job, but will I ever adjust to this working environment?

Did you have a fun day today?
I hope so. xxx
.....mine was post worthy right?
I just have to laugh, I just have to laugh, I just have to laugh, I just have to laugh.........

this is not what i am really meant to be doing...
or maybe it's just where I am supposed to be for today.

I SPY - A Bottle Tree

Bottle Trees

What is a bottle tree?

The bottle tree's origins can be traced back to Africa. Evidently, it was believed that shiny objects placed around the home would attract evil spirits away from the family. With the tragedy of the slave trade, the tradition found its way to North America and continued to evolve into the hanging of bottles in trees to "trap" the evil spirits.
We don't believe bottles could in any way "trap" evil spirits. However, over the years the bottle tree has become a very unique Southern gardening tradition.
Everyone wants their yard or garden to be unique in some way. Landscaping has become so predictable, that without spending an enormous amount of time and money in your yard or garden, it is becoming difficult to be different. UNLESS YOU GET CREATIVE! Bottle trees give you the chance to be creative! They allow you to put your own twist on your yard or garden.

At the moment I need a bottle tree in my yard.
I live in a community with a Home Owners Association.
OMG!!!!
Is it only the SICK that get on these boards?
There is a rumor flying around the community that
I have a motorcycle and am riding it all the time,
which is in clear violation of the 'by-laws' where I live.

I am afraid of motorcycles.!!!
I don't ride one.

I need a bottle tree.
But I am sure it would be in violation of something here.

xx happy weekend

Shut Up!!!

I recently used this bed in a job of mine.
When we first viewed it in the catalog....
at first view it looked as though it was a antiqued silver velvet.
But it is not.
It is however - antiqued silver - silver with a faint gold wash over it
This is my favorite metallic of all.
The company is Theodore Alexander.
The collection is called Argento.

The bed arrived and was delivered....
I called my client and asked her "How do you like it?
I asked her, "Is it beautiful?"
She screamed into the phone
"It is SHUT UP gorgeous!!!"

Music to my ears. :)
I am considering the above chest for next to the bed and a skirted table on the other side.
You have to be careful when using a fabulous finish like this.
You definitely don't want too much of it.
Small doses...although that bed is not so small.
( But...OMG, it is a show stopper and that is what she wanted.)
It will lessen the effect.....
or shall we just say 'it will become too much of a good thing.'

The collection - Argento is made up of
all pieces in this finish .

I added one more piece of this in the room on the other side.
A small tall chest to anchor the finish and balance the room.

Do you likie???

It really is breathtaking in person, and worth every penny.
