Come Inside...

and see the interior of this Georgian home
done by Joseph Minton.

This is the most fabulous space.
Check out the Chinoiserie piano.
The potted palms, the wall brackets, urns, etc etc.
I love this.
( i would prefer less blue...but that is just me)
There is so much thought and
'accidental perfection.'
It doesn't seem 'decorated.'
It just looks as though someone worldly,
sophisticated, and fabulous lives here.
And isn't that our job??
-To make people,
with enough money to hire us
look like they are
WAY BETTER, WAY COOLER,
and WAY MORE FABULOUS
than they really are???
heheheheheheh
no really,
it's true.
I have soooooooooooo many stories.
Because of this dining room...
Isn't it wonderful to be inspired????
I am doing a job now-
where I making the dining room a library,
with the dining in the center of it.
It will be great.
When you do the classics-
you don't really ever have to
re-decorate unless you choose to.
(uhh oh!!!)

Would you rather live in
a classically designed home
or a home styled with latest trends?

-choose trends,
so that we designers will continue to have work.
please please please

No judgement here,
I am just curious.

oh yes...............
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Meow Meow
...a table for two,
and a bowl of milk please!!!!

later.....i am off to work XXXX's

  1. Sorry sweet, I would put you out of work, I like classic, lived in, comfortable! But hey we even get sick of that if it is not changed a bit so I think you are safe after all!!
Could move into this place with ease.

  4. Ca. 1980's saw an UNDONE gorgeous-fabulous home in House & Garden magazine.

Ha, my introduction to Sister Parish.

Who knew, UNDONE, requires TALENT from the gods !!

  5. I prefer classics MIXED with a few trends here and there...switches it up a bit and creates a bit of interest. Are zebra hide rugs a classic? or a trend? ... I am looking to get a small one for my master bedroom or entry.... I like the "punch" or "pop" they give to a room......was wondering...

  6. I try to stay away from trends. When everyone else is doing something, I walk the other way...

  7. Renee,

As 2011 approaches being a designer means to defy gravity. Self-structure means your disciplines are more than your even aware of and the true "magic" is the grace of silence and using it when needed. Renee, you are able to do both because the younger clients with money want trends and the older ones with money want classic design.

You can do anything and love it. Focus is the key and once held steady you defy gravity...it's as simple as that. Your ability to research, gain knowledge and perception of people's needs is powerful.

    Happy Halloween!

  12. Happy Halloween Renee
Yes I think I would prefer classic.. at least in the fundamental core style .. one can always add and change trend pieces here and there.. But then I would prefer a lot of things.. like my own home.. haha

Love those living spaces and being a blue person.. love that too. Mirrors are fabulous!!

Have a great week.. and thanks for sweet comments. ciao .. meow!! xxx Julie

  15. Stunning images! Absolutely exquisite.
I tend to lean to the classic but now and then a little trendy piece added here and there.

  16. Renee thank you for your comment on my blog and for leading me here to yours. What a wonderful place for inspiration it is! I have enjoyed several post and know I will continue to return.

This house (in this post) is magnificent and I so appreciate the 'classic look' and agree with you that it can last for ever with out the need to update (other than for wear'n'tear).
The chesterfield in the bedroom is heaven. I so want one!!

Hope you had a fab and spooky Halloween! That cat looks like it would rather enjoy a bowl of blood than milk.. :)

    Have a great weekend!
