Trench Coats, Umbrellas & Spring ....PLEASE

Please
we are sick of the winter!!!

I am so into the short trench coat/jackets!!

Maybe.....I am still making my mind up

I most certainly am not !!!!!
I am waiting and waiting for spring.
Throw me a bone!!!
More sun and less freezing temperatures.

If only I could see a bud.....some life.

Maine is the most beautiful
but the last months can be dismal.
I suffer from seasonal depression and this winter has been a doozy.

But...........when spring breaks....
there is hope.
Then I KNOW the greatest season approaches,
summer in Maine.
There is nothing like it anywhere.

I am holding on to the hope of spring.

Real Mainers fishing in the spring

Do you like the short trench coat?
Have a great week.
And
I hope it is raining where you are
and the bulbs are blooming!

Sebastian Errazuriz's Table And Shelving Unit

Sebastian Errazuriz has created somethings that are brilliant, whimsical and yes,
sophisticated.

A real tree for a dining room table base.

The tree along with metal bars support the table.
Imagine you dinner guests reaction.
WOW

I love things that are beautiful and unexpected!!!
I see French Louis dining chairs upholstered
in zebra at this table.
Yeah Baby!

And this bookshelf is just what you might need in a room!
He also has designed these shelving units tall as a tree might grow,
up and around a door jam.

Fun! Really Fun.

What You Do Can With WOOD Flooring Materials

I have fallen in love with wood all over again.

I sell all sorts of ways to cover your floors....
Real hardwood flooring is gorgeous but requires a great deal of care.
Just think of how you need to protect your fine furniture from everyday
wear and tear.
You use coasters right?
You don't through your car keys on your dining room table,
right?
You wouldn't allow your dog to run across your dining room table either,
It would scratch it.
Well.....
imagine you now have a whole house or room to care for in the same way.

This is something I could not deal with.

Laminate and vinyl flooring has come a long way.
Not to mention porcelain wood tiles for the floor.

You can run your flooring up the walls.

Vinyl wood tiles

Love this chevron patterned wood floor.
(and my colors....black & white)

More ways to have your wood floor installed.

they will also install wood flooring like this ( above).

If I had this beautiful wood floor.....
and someone came to my house and had a tiny pebble
stuck in the sole of their shoe
and proceeded to walk all over the house with me -
there would be a deep scratch all over the wood floor.
OMG!!!

You say...."well, just sand it and refinish it"
NOT!
You would never get the finish to match exactly.
This would just flip me out.
That is all I would see when I walked in the room.

This is why I think all the other wood floor alternatives are the best options.
*Laminate, porcelain and vinyl wood floors
Sanity!

On the left of this picture are cobble real wood tiles.

These are also cobble real wood tiles

Wood just gives atmosphere to a space.
A warmth.
The coziness that I crave.

Cross sections of lumber and cross sections of twigs.

You can also lay your wood floor symmetrically.
It's a great look.
*There is an example in one of the pictures at the beginning of this post.
4th down

Porcelain Wood flooring

More porcelain wood tiles

Yes. This is porcelain too.

Here the wood flooring is run right up the walls.
Love It.

Here beautiful laminate flooring can be applied to the walls.
Laminate flooring comes in all types of finishes and colors as do
real wood planks, vinyl wood flooring and porcelain tiles.

Real wood tiles.

I adore how this wood is applied to the floor.
It can go contemporary or traditional.

Cut wood planks stacked to create a wall covering.

*Here's another tip

You can use laminate or vinyl wood flooring to make a table or desk top.

There is just so much you can do with wood flooring!!

You really must go to see my favorite wood and vinyl flooring site.
They have gorgeous real wood floors and to EXACTLY match the have vinyl wood floors to use when you get to the kitchens and bathrooms.

FERROKER - I Love This Tile!!

This is FERROKER Porcelain Tile.
It is amazing.
Tough and beautiful.
The color above is Ferroker Aluninio.

My favorite is Ferroker - Color Ferroker  above.
It has rectified edges.....
You can install it with almost NO GROUT lines.
I love that.
I have used it on counter tops up here.
You can get 26" x 26" pieces.
.... and there are bullnose trim tiles to finish the front of the counter.

Instead of using marble or granite...
it's is less than $400.00 for an average counter and back-splash.
*Install without grout lines.
*Use silicone grout.

The uses are endless because of the high quality of
Ferroker Porcelain Tile.
Read the specs below.

This is the Ferroker - Ferroker outside.
I wanted you to see it in the light....inside it is more toned down
You might see why it is my favorite.

It has the feeling of an old industrial metal.
It is fabulous.
Don't be afraid of using this Ferroker in a traditional setting.
It is the perfect counter-top in a traditional kitchen.
Where you might use soapstone, zinc or marble....
it's a great substitute at 1/3 the price

Here it is installed with a visible grout line.
I am not a fan of grout lines.

Read up.
If you want to get a lot of bang for your buck,
this will do it.

XXX Renee

I Have Been Tired and Lost

I have received emails from a few of you wondering where I have been.

Well...
I don't really know.
I have found myself working in a job that is ....
let's just say
another lesson in humility.
I say that and it may sound like a bad thing
but
it is not really.
Some of us need that sort of thing.
We need to be brought right back down to the basics in life.

As far as blogging....I have lost my way. I don't have a clue
as to who I am up here in Maine.
(and I love Maine)
G-d has some sort of plan for me ( I tell myself that) and I keep looking for the cue card...
....I haven't seen it yet

I actually am afraid to blog.
This blog may really become something else,
and I am not sure I am okay with that.
I WANT MY OLD LIFE BACK.
(just up here)
And that would be the career aspect
not the part with a wonderful relationship.
I had NO big relationship with a wonderful man.

I am telling you, it is such a foreign place here in Maine, I am trying to reinvent myself.
I haven't dressed since I got here.
It's just not that kind of place.
They wear North Face, Patagonia....you know excellent cold weather wear.
And my gads of jewelry...forget about wearing any of that.
I would stand out like someone from 'AWAY.'
Yes.
That is what they call anyone that was not born in this area...
the 'AWAY' people.
At work they say ;
" oh, they must be from 'away' that's why..."

I am trying to get it together to get  a job in the only 'TRADE' showroom in town.
It's a fine tile and stone company.
They already have someone working there (and most places only have 1 person)
and I bet she is not from 'AWAY.'
hahahahah

Here is some good news....
I have taken up snow skiing again.
 I loved skiing, second only to the ponies.
The winters are so long and last year I ended up in a bad way....!!
So, this year I decided to take up skiing again. I did and now
I am excited when it snows!!!

There is a ski resort right  here in Camden Maine called the Snow Bowl.
You can see the ocean when you ski.
Pretty cool.
There are about 50 ski resorts within 2 hours of where I live.

 My birthday is next week and my mom bought me ski boots
and the skis are on the way as we speak.
I am thrilled.
It is my most exhilarating time here.
~~~~~~~
You can ski until you are much older.
(something to look forward to)
There is a woman in one of the ski clubs that is 82.
and lift tickets are free if you are over 70 yrs old....sweet.
I am trying to find my voice again.
I just feel completely strange, I mean it.
I don't know what's next, I just go through the motions and wait.
Love to my friends
xx
