HOMES...Painted All Black (or Dark Charcoal )

Call me crazy, but I am almost sure this is the smallest house
in Manhattan.
It is cool. NO?

I am such a BLACK lover
that I decided to find as many Black Houses that I could  in one post....
and I think each are delicious in their own way.

10 Downing St.

We know who's cool
and who lives here.
DON"T WE?

Well.....
I must admit there have been cooler P.M.s.

Fun.

I noticed my first black residential house this year
while driving through Rockland Maine.
It was so sharp.

Spooky

If this were mine...
(love bricks painted)
I would have used a black and white awning over the door
trimmed with wood tassels.

Black and full of charm,
who knew???
Are those RED geraniums ?
YUM!!!!
A natural choice to go with black or white painted brick

Grow a garden on your roof....

The above home....
I could see myself living happily ever after.

However the one above has me really thinking.
A small black patent leather house ???
That's me!!!
I mean...it would only be me living there.
YEAH!!!

Can you imagine?
Chic little BLACK playhouses.
Hmmmmmm.......
I wonder what sort of play time those kiddies have in there??
I hope they don't play with pentagrams!!!

I hope you have enjoyed my Black House Tour.

  1. Renee, an exterior in black is not something I have ever really thought of. Black Lacquer doors and shutters yes. Excellent examples for us...

  2. Renee I have to agree with Karena I really never thought of black houses but I do like many of them.

I hope you are having a nice Spring weekend! Enjoy.

  3. It is very dramatic, and it largely depends on the architecture of the building...in some its actually quite spectacular in others its freaky and foreboding! Some of these are stunning...I have seen Adirondack style homes look amazing painted black, ditto NYC townhouses. Hope alls well......

I like the one you do.
The one with the sun porch is nice too.

  5. Hi Renee, I have a friend who dresses completely in black, her home is decorated only in black with small touches of leopard and zebra...very dramatic! I like the house you chose above, still appears cozy ,inviting and classy....I think black is a great colour in home decor and fashion....looks like you are adjusting beautifully in Maine, keep well,N.xo

  7. Love black! I allows innate beauty in humans, pet, nature reign! More man-made black!
