I fell INTO
this group of images.
Originally from World Of Interiors.
I found them on http://trouvais.com/
I just wanted to be INSIDE these rooms.
As of late ...
I have begun to understand the color blue a bit more.
I even want to work with it.
Honestly....
throughout my career I am guilty of steering my clients away from it.
But look at this unbelievably beautiful carpet.
The colors!!!!
A feast!
In the past when forced to work with blue
I have usually done everything in blue and white fabrics including pale naturals
with marigold walls.
I have loved green since I was a little girl.
So ...
blue and green is a natural and beautiful combination for me.
What ever took me so long
to come around to the deep and rich hues of blue ?
I am sure it is from my early days in design
when women would want blue & mauve/pink together.
It made me outright sick.

Renee, I am so happy to find this. I am working on a painting with all three colors right now. Just gorgeous! I am saving these.

Renee,
ReplyDeleteI noticed these images some weeks ago in the magazine World of Interiors and they immediately spoke to me a lot! Beautiful wall colors ! A bit mysterious! So so beautiful!

ReplyDeletei know it is like a dream.....

Funny you say that- I just did a post on blue & green last week. I think I was influenced by the incredible beauty seen at Jeffrey Bale's blog- he is traveling in Morocco.
ReplyDeleteI grew up with:-
ReplyDelete"blue and green should never be seen
But green and blue will always do!"
a colour combination I love to use a lot!!!! xxx Jules
I adore the blues in those images - although my favorite is of the woman arranging the flowers. What a great image. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Renée,
ReplyDeleteI am SO guilty of ignoring blue but these images have really changed my mind ....and, who say's that blue and green should never be seen....they go so well together.
Hope you are feeling better. XXXX

ReplyDeletei am telling you....
you can't imagine how many clients i moved from blue to green.
i feel sort of guilty and dumb about it all now.
but i just was NEVER comfortable working with the color
until i had one client in nantucket
-who's palette was tomato bisque, bone, dark cobalt blue with touches of charcoal.
it came out truly divine.
and since then i can do it-
i guess the older you get the more open minded you become.
there is nothing like experience, experience, experience.
xxx ;)
I'm in the same "move out of blue' boat. I have clients away too. These images though definitely change my mind...gorgeous!
