Get The Look

The walls look lacquered right?
Nope.
It is Phillip Jeffries's Lacquered walls in EYELINER.
It is a long lasting vinyl that mimics lacquer and
fools everyone-

What do you think?
Too dramatic for you?

My bathroom is big and the walls are the same.
The ceiling is hand painted in gold and silver grape vines.
And in certain sections of the walls
the gold and silver vines come climbing down from the ceiling.
It's pretty wild.
It's beautiful, but I am sick of it.

Where could you see it used if not in a home?
It has such impact and is so rich looking,
especially if your'e using fabulous art or venetian mirrors on it.
What else could you see?

  1. I would like to use it on the ceiling - especially the silver leaf colour. Hope it would adhere properly. Unfortunately I don't think there's anyone in Bangkok skilled enough to put it up. Boo hoo!

  2. The black would look awesome on a great door IMHO, but just the door.

  3. Too much? No way...I love it, so dramatic, elegant, regal and important looking. Black is one of my favorite colors...lots of power with the punch. I have seen black libraries, black dining rooms that are sensational take your breath away gorgeous. Its all about the balance of what is going on in the roon and adding some reflection (mirrors) to add extra dimension.....love drama and black delivers.

  9. I did a post a while back on black as a dominant color in rooms. I love black walls! Not too dramatic for me!

  10. I used to have black walls in my dining room. Came from looking at too many architectural digest in the 80's and 90's. Loved the whole biedermeier furniture I was in love with then....though I couldn't have afforded a single piece.
I got some ribbing from my FIL for those walls...oy! I think he thought I had lost my mind!
