Look closely.
There is a girl on his back.
Roseta Santiago
is the artist.
I have been completely blown away by her work.
And it is no easy task to find her work online.
And trust me on this
her work in person will leave you in a state of wonder.
I couldn't even find a great image of the painting I own.
Believe me, if you saw the painting I bought
you would never guess that I would purchase it.
It is just that when I had the chance
to purchase one of her pieces
it was the only one of the lot that I could afford at the time.
I just had to have a piece of her{s}
The detail, the lighting.....she creates magic on canvas.
Her horses are my fave.

Nice Renee...
ReplyDeleteReally nice!

Yes, Renee, I am pleased you have a piece of her lovely work. See how the petals simply fall over the edge in the last still life? Great composition, well executed, beautiful. Makes me want to move quickly back into realism - I tire of abstraction.
ReplyDeleteRenee,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work and you are so fortunate to have an original. The first with horse and what looks like a blanket saddle turns out to be a woman...wish it were in my house!
I just love the nest and the eggs painting. So sft, rural and yet poetic.
ReplyDeleteI had dinner with patricia Gray ( a fellow blogger from Vancouver) and discovered she is an amazing artist! i loved her paintings. Will try to do a post on her work
Lovely. we need all the beauty we can get. More please.

It's beautiful and one day soon I will be back to have a good look but at the moment my son is trying to get home from work and his family have already worked out how to get to the roof of their house in case they need to as the rains continue to fall and Brisbane City is in danger of flooding today when the king tide comes in. We are glued to the TV, the phone and the radio please pray for all those in Queensland who are in such desperate straits xoxo Jules
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful Renee,
ReplyDeleteI can see why you had to have a piece of her work.....I love the nest.....so delicate. XXXX

Gorgeous work, Renee. I have found so many wonderful artists online. But I've never seen Santiago's work before. (And Santiago is my maiden name, so I feel an instant connection.)
