This is where I want to get dressed for work each day.
These silver leafed walls are divine.
The dressing table is not too bad either.
{ love it }
I would change the chair and the chandelier,
but the rest is just fine by me.
Oh,
I would add austrian shades on the window,
loosing the crystal beads.
And do a fabulous antique area rug in neutrals.
You know, I get this often,
people come to me with previously designed homes and want me to work miracles.
I only wish they would come to me with something like this!!!
It is almost always a nightmare.
Just a few changes would soften it up and really make it my own.
How about you?
What might you change in this room
to personalize it to your taste?
...if that is possible.
I know this is way over the top for many.
I live glamorously in my head, so why not in my dressing room?
Hi Renee...many thanks for your comment :)
ReplyDeleteI love this image, love the thought I could put my make-up on to all that beautiful light. I am with you on the chair and chandelier. I have been watching way too many English period dramas lately and the most recent Upstairs Downstairs comes to mind...a few touches from that era and voila...
Watch this clip and you will get the general idea :)http://jeanne-findingmyway.blogspot.com/2011/01/upstairs-downstairs.html
Best wishes...

jeanne,
ReplyDeletewe agree on this.
it is dramatic
and just a 'thing or two'
here and there would change it up completely.
xx
Dear Renee,
ReplyDeleteYou are posting up a storm lately !!!! I can't keep up !! hehe
What I love about this dressing room is the silver finish on the walls. It's a little bit too Hollywood for me so, I would keep the walls and the dressing table but would change the light fittings and the chair and the little bit's and pieces. I don't know why I'm saying that really as, if someone gave me that room, I would sit in the chair with a glass of Champagne and thank my lucky stars that I had such a room !!!! XXXX
Oh yes I could paint my face on in this setting!
ReplyDeleteSince silver is my metal, I can only imagine it would compliment my skin beautifully. I could go away 'thinking' all was great and not 'see' the effects of middle age! Ha!
xoxo
I would change the chandelier and the chair as well. Though I don't know about all that light. At my age, think of the horror every morning. HA! This is the kind of room you more or less have to live up to. So I'd have to sashay in in a silk dressing gown and poufy mules. HA!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeletei am so bad... i slap a little mascara on and out the door i go... i really need a make over! xx

ReplyDeletei know......it is too fabulous
i may be spending time spacing out

Talk about glamor! Love how fabulous that dresser is! Have a gorgeous day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteLove this too, as silver and moi go way back! All the way to childhood when my dad would get me silver and indian turquoise rings at rodeos and horse shows.
ReplyDeleteSimply devine!

The silvered wall are gorgeous but something about the vanity weight and shape does not appeal to me...I'll take the room, of course (just switch out the vanity). Well, fun to daydream.
ReplyDeleteMary Ann
So glam, although, it's not really me. Your blog is looking SO classy! You've been decorating over here!
ReplyDeleteYes I would do the same changes but add more antiques. Not sure about the counter with the wavy ( is that the term?) sides. It does give it that Hollywood glam look.
ReplyDeleteThe silver walls are super cool!
