Toby watches the NYC marathon.
This is the neighborhood Toby lives in.
These are some of the runners that
Toby watches.
How I wish I were there.
I love the marathon.
I am amazed that anyone can run more than 5 city blocks.
It would all but kill me.
I might be able to walk the marathon,
but somehow I don't think anyone will still be hanging around
by the time I would finish.
Besides....
I would stop for a nice lunch
and I would be hard pressed not to go shopping
while walking passed all the superb shops.
No.....
for sure I would finish the race
holding many shopping bags.
If I finished at all.
Would you?
Could you do the NYC Marathon?

No, me toppled over the Marc Jacobs bag is more my speed. I have been hitting the treadmill more, though. Does that count? :)

I barely manage the frantic lope around the ring dragging a reluctant dog behind me so.....I don't think so!
ReplyDeleteWell, no I couldn't do it. Maybe if we trained for it for a year, huh?!
ReplyDeleteThanks for finding me through Millie! Love your blog..I've joined up so I can come again! :)

ReplyDeleteIf I manage my 20 minute treadmill and weights, I am worn out. I saw a running race in Florence Italy once.
ReplyDeleteEven met 2 american runners, they were really in shape.
Renee are you serious, no I will be walking along shopping, like you!

No way!! I'd rather go shopping and for lunch; besides..., running on hard pavement is bad for the knees, haha!

I don't see a marathon in my future but I certainly admire those who attempt it. As the others run, I'm sure you and I will bump into each other shopping!

Every time I read your blog I have a smile..honestly because you & I are wayyyyyyy too much a like. I am nor ever will be a runner, just wasn't built for it. I too would want to stop & peek in the shop windows. I would wear running shoes but only for sprinting into a store for a sale!!
