Someone's Collection of Fine Porcelain in Berlin

This man's collection started with this bird.
The collection that he has acquired resides
with him in this building in Berlin.

When I see a place like this......

I am intrigued.

I want to meet the person who lives here.

Fine art,and  fine antique furniture combined with some classic
modern pieces here and there.
I don't sense any pretense.

I want to look at everything and snoop around.

To me, this home has humanity.
It is not crazy orderly.

What do you think?
What is your take on this place?

  1. I love the feel of this place, the realness of it. I'd be happier without all the gewgaws, but that's what makes it so inviting - it's a very individualized space, which is always appealing even if I don't "like" it.

  3. Renee,

You hold the elements of a great designer because a home is the soul of it's owner. You see clues and seek to knowledge of a soul of a person. It's a compliment and pleases the universe and you become enriched through knowing more about others.

    Blessings,

    Bette

  5. A wonderful collection. You know the peices I liked. That pink Parrot I'd love to have. It also makes me think of what I lost in one big fire.

you know i try very hard to make a client's home 'about them.'
so that means i have to dig a bit into their interests, and personal life's story.
thank you for the huge compliment.

  8. I couldn't agree more. It would be great to at least a photo of the man who occupies that amazing home. He does not seem ostentatious in the least. Being in his home I suspect would be like spending an evening with Katharine Hepburn. Style, good breeding, clever conversation, and perhaps a single-malt scotch.

Great post my savvy friend! xo xo

  10. Yes it's human and gentle, but it takes a good maid to feather dust all those birdies and other creatures. The only thing I find strange is the paintings hung so low.
