I am too scared to jump....
I have decided to get off the ledge
and go into the woods.
I need a little time in the woods to clear the head, and put things in some kind of perspective.
Maybe I can line all my little ducks up in a neat little row before I make any decision about what direction to go ....
I have been told that I am always getting my ducks in a row.....I don't like to make a move until I do. It is that ' fear of the unknown' thing.
I need to figure out what do I really want to do. Not what is practical, not what is expected, but what is it that I want. After all ...if I follow my bliss, I (and what I do) will be a success.
And there is no place that I would rather go than to
The Mohonk Mountain House.Mohonk Mountain House is a National Historic Landmark , and absolutely my idea of camping out.
How about you ?
It is hard to imagine that this is in the United States, but it is.
I think it is outrageously beautiful. And this is as close as I can get to feeling like a time traveler.
(a life long fantasy of mine)
Just look at the architecture, the grounds, and the breath taking scenery!
If you do like nature, this is a fabulous vacation spot.
Yes, there are' spa services' as well.
Rising from the rocky shore of Lake Mohonk in New York's Catskills Mountains, the Mohonk Mountain House is a National Historic Landmark and one of the greatest treasures of the Hudson Valley. "Founded in the 1870s by Quaker Albert K. Smiley and his twin Alfred H., it is still the mountain retreat they envisioned, run by more than 15 members of the Smiley family, all of whom carry on the tradition of reverence for nature espoused by their great grandfathers." Surrounding the hotel are numerous walking and hiking paths punctuated regularly with rustic bridges, railings, and gazebos perched precariously on the protruding rocks where visitors can relax and take in the glorious scenery.
The history of this place is interesting , I have provided the sites below. This glorious place is open

This is stunning and it shouldn't be too far, I think. Fall might be the perfect time. The vastness of nature always helps me to let thoughts go and reconnect with source (soul, spirit or whatever you call it).
ReplyDeleteHow good does this look Renee! The perfect place for decision making I reckon. My place would be Villa D'Este on Lake Como. As far away from the wilds of Australia as I could get, & oh so chic & elegant. Don't mull too long my friend, sometimes you just have to DO IT!!

Oh this is a fabulous place! My favorite photo is the interesting gate and pink Smoke Tree/Bush! It reminds me of a secret garden full of mystery and adventure lurking behind. I'm visiting the link....very intriguing! I'm sort of at the same fork in the road in life.....asking what do I really want? It's a hard question to answer sometimes....take your time until peace washes you anew! Best wishes! Luanne
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic place. Mountains are wonderful too, really are..., well growing up in Switzerland I could enjoy lots of great scenery. And nature does help to open my mind too. What's important seems to emerge more easily.
ReplyDeleteThat place is truly FAB!!! I've NEVER heard of it... that is my kind of camping too! GREAT place to go line up your ducks!!!
ReplyDeleteThis place looks amazing, Renee~ hope you can take a breather and get clear direction. Thanks as always for your kind words and support and have a wonderful weekend! XO
