I grew up in South Beach, we would skip school ( at Ida M. Fisher Junior High) and go for ice cream at a place called
'Dipper Dans ', which was about 2 blocks from the ocean, and around the corner from
The Tides Hotel on South Miami Beach.
Do not water the gold palms in the corner !
I think this is a great architectural touch, I see these as architectural accessories.
Really glamorous !
Turtle soup anyone ???
Seriously elegant, but I am hoping they are fake.
I love these dividers, and they are easy enough to recreate.
A suite at The Tides.
A super long chesterfield....more classic elegance.
The Martini Bar at
The Tides
Notice the DECO touches.

I would skip school too if I had a beach like this available!
ReplyDeleteI'm freaked. We left a comment on each other'sblog at the same moment.
ReplyDeleteIt's so glam!
ReplyDeleteI spent many winters during the 1990's in South Beach. The Tides still had not been done up - it was a great hotel then, but it's super now!

Hey Renee!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! I used to go to the Vidal Sasson salon on South Beach to get my hair cut! It is an interesting place...and oh what fun the Tides. If I get down that way, I'll look you up and maybe we can rendezvous for a mojito!
Blessings.
Wow, LOVE it! Beautiful :D
ReplyDeletethat chesterfield ... and the martini bar! both insanely gorgeous.
ReplyDeletehappy weekend!
See you at Mardi Gras next year!
ReplyDeleteDo you mind stopping by my blog? I am looking for different design ideas for my front entry!
Have a great weekend!
ohhh Renee...thank you thank you thank you! I love all your ideas and I like too what PVE said with the wall paper, it is the perfect place for it! I like the height you were talking about b/c I was looking for a mirror 3'x7', and I love the idea of a tall plant stand, I find myself buying those in different shapes and heights. Now...I need to get to work!
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate for you to have been raised in the decor industry...lucky you.
Blessings to ya!
