Our Seattle home was all painted woodwork & we loved it. But as we know..styles will change once again some darn day. Will you share Bobby Short & that piano with me?

*kisses*Dumbwit Tellherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18148671166061931241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9043721957359281413.post-58345162680235479662010-12-08T10:16:53.121-05:002010-12-08T10:16:53.121-05:00While I would hesitate to paint the natural wood t...While I would hesitate to paint the natural wood trim of an older home that was intended to be presented as such, my personal preference leans towards painted trim with all its decorative possibilities. In Manhattan apartments with steel door jambs, I sometimes add wood elements to beef up the painted trim, but make mahogany or pine doors with a natural finish.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9043721957359281413.post-90991627433527566612010-12-07T21:32:57.148-05:002010-12-07T21:32:57.148-05:00tea or wine

That was the fashion at the time but now I have my husband frantically painting everything. I can't bring myself to paint our internal doors, as they are original and I think , still look lovely. I think that I like a bit of both. I love creamy white paintwork, but a bit of natural woodwork really warms the house up. I am in two minds at the moment. ( no change there then !!) I think I like the look of a dark/natural wood in the entry way, especially in older homes. In our last house, we painted our dark wood kitchen cabinets white and I loved that look.JMWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11850088300591079931noreply@blogger.com
