A Touch Of RED

I am loving the lacquered red INTERIOR doors.
And one of them is a DUTCH DOOR!!!
I have always wanted one.

The red pillows and the slip seat cover in red do liven the place up.
Note - the trim at the bottom of the white chair to the right.

Cute red stars and a bit of red in the pillows.

A red back splash is always an option.

Just as red dishes can perk up a cupboard.

The red throw, red in the art, and a few 'diddlywots' on the side table
add interest to the room.

In my mind....you can never go wrong with
a RED CHINOISERIE MIRROR.

If  you are more contemporary try a coral mirror.

Red Foo Dog Lamps!

I love these red glass bottle/vases.

Don't forget the outdoors.

This isn't anything I would ever do ,
but in the right application I am sure it would do wonderfully.

And the red options you have when it comes to pillows is endless.

If you can believe it...
the red ottoman (above) is from overstock.com.

A red carpet will do the job!!!
Then you can go easy or hard handed
if you wish to add the red additions to finish your space.

Be brave girl!!!
(with this RED ZEBRA)

It is my belief that art is certainly a separate entity.

'Art' should never be chosen to decorate a room
unless of course you are a hotel room.

But it doesn't hurt
if you are lucky enough to have found a piece of art that you are in love with
and it happens to go nicely in a space.

If red frightens you.....

It's a joy that adding gorgeous RED FLOWERS
can do the job all by themselves!!

And then they die

Happy Sunday.

Sunday Brunch & Banquettes

When I lived in NYC
the highlight of the week for me was
SUNDAY BRUNCH.
Whether it was meeting friends and family
at the new 'Hot Spot' for Brunch
or
meeting at someones home for the fabulous event.
~~~~~~~~~
The above banquette just drives home why we love
BANQUETTES!!
You could never fit as many people using a table and chairs
as you can using a banquette, table and chairs
in the same amount of space.
RIGHT??
Just remember
when you use a banquette flush against a wall....
you gain between 30" and 36" in your room.
A brilliant solution when needing more space.
Don't you think?
It's Sunday....
invite some of your
B.F.F.'s to Sunday Brunch!!
KEYS
Have you ever thought about your keys?
I was watching a movie ( a detective show )
and the detective solved the murder mystery
when he found the victims KEYS.
He knew that one of the keys on this key chain
had to be  the key to the victims home.
And it was. And of course he solved the murder mystery!!
But,
what stood out to me
and got me to thinking
was the huge amount of keys on this particular key chain.
It was crazy...like 50 keys.
How complicated could this victims life be?
What could all those different keys open?
Then I started thinking about how few keys I now have on my key chain.
I had so many keys last year.
My showroom,
my house,
my locker at the health club, keys to the cabana, keys to my trunk at the barn,
keys to mailboxes ..... the list goes on.
Now that I have started over,
completely.....
A fresh new ME , living in Maine.....
Today,
I have just a few keys.
Home, car, and post office box.
The weight of those keys obviously was too much for me.
Today my life is simple.
Perhaps more simple than I wish it to be.
Most days I am thrilled with my very light key chain.
*I now have just 3 keys*
I am trying to reinvent myself here.
It's freaky.
Really.
I have no past here.
No one really knows who I am and who I have been.
I mean I lived it Boca Raton for almost 30 years.....
How many keys do you carry?
Have you ever thought about this 'key' thing?
Much love to my friends.
Have a great weekend.
About Renée Finberg
I have been in this business since the age of 22.
I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.
Design Challenges are great.
And because of those challenges
I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,
Designed and Manufactured Furniture,
Created Fantastic Window Treatments,
And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues
With my unique style.
If I can't find it, I create it.
My rooms would make excellent movie sets.
I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.
Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.
Just Great Design.
Just imagine how it would be if each of us,
If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be
Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,
The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.
