Houses and Barns By John Libby in Maine

Houses and Barns By John Libby in Maine

It is still 30 degrees here in Maine.
Too Cold.
Where is spring?

So I can only dream of some of the things that drew me here.

Like Adirondacks and the sea.

The Homes.

Okay.
These sliding barn doors are brilliant.
If one could afford it,
it would be great on all windows and doors
in place of shutters.
In Maine AND In Florida for storms.

Beams.
Another love of mine.

Stone is used all over here.
It's all the natural textures that I am drawn to.

Do you love the sink???

Something very popular here
is the pebbled floor in the showers.

My kind of home.
A big porch with.....

A VIEW!!

Have a great weekend.
xx

  1. All sooo beautiful, some of my favorite elements, natural beams, stone, gorgeous gabled roofs, all so stunning and so coastal. Beautiful and talented body of work...just came in from outside.....freeeeeezing here, 40 and windy, hope spring arrives soon, it will be time for summer at this rate!!

  2. You know, apart from all of these homes being absolutely beautiful, what I found completely fascinating is that they are all from Maine. (Yes, is that right?) Because the thought strikes me that with such a now-globalised design world, it's really interesting to see the variations between the different parts of the US. (As distinct from grouping them in architectural styles I mean...)

And so many of these elements (exposed rugged beams, stone, barn doors) are great favourites of mine too. xx

ps - sending you some virtual warmth from downunder - we have gone back to summer - what's happening?????

  6. Hi Renee,
Hmmm the sink? No, I don't like it. The rim of the sink looks like the rim of a toilet bowl, so no, certainly not my style.

Spring will come soon for you, however it might be more into summer.

Take care and keep looking forward.
