Pinterest .....PLEASE STOP

I feel more ANNOYED then it would be proper to say on my sweet little BLOG.
But what I am thinking is;
what is the story with PINTEREST????
I keep getting request to follow people back!!!
They have NO BOARDs?
NO PINS.
Why in the world would i want to follow you???

*Many are Men.

I am not digging this huge waste of my time.
Every time I get a mail from Pinterest.....
I make a small wager with myself....

will this be a dead beat or
really someone of interest,
that I WANT TO FOLLOW?????
hmmmmm?
which wager do you think wins -
more times that not?

If you are listening;
Pinterest, please don't send 'Vapid' individuals to follow.
You really should have a better system of screening for us.
We have taken The time to build your concept....
and you have not given us the respect we should deserve.

Please stop the worthless 'FOLLOWS'

Am I all alone in this?

  1. I agree with you, Renee. So tired of the emails. Over 1300 when I lost count.
Hope that you are having a nice Wednesday.

  4. Renee,

I agree...so much of social media is about sharing and joining in a virtual community. What we are learning is that it's takes more from us than we anticipated. Our TIME to screen and delete when we have a limited amount of that already.

I am getting more junk emails, advertisements in my home mailbox, at my front door, and left on my car at the grocery store. I unsubscribe by email, snail mail, and in return envelopes sent to me for reply.

I unsubscribe to everything I do not want. After all it's my choice!

Life is good without it. My message is I'll contact you... if I need to...lol

    Great point....Have a great day!

  7. You are so funny....I hear your frustration and that would drive me mad too! I haven't caught onto the Pinterest craze, I have an acct. and do use it on occasion but not really "getting" this addiction people are talking about. This affliction hasn't hit me yet, and now I hope it won't hit me at all...lol.

  10. I had no idea of what could wait for me if I signed on. So thanks to you Renée I am glad I did not sign up. I got enough to deal with social media.

    Cheers,

    Claudia

  11. I signed on early, did not have the time to Pin, and now cannot get into my acct. I think it is great for some people; however I really do not need more time on the computer.

  12. I pinned my first picture and was flooded with 27 e-mails. I haven't pinned anything since. I need to figure out if there's a way to stop the e-mails, but still used the boards.

  13. Renee, I don't have that problem. Maybe I'm not interesting enough, hahaha.

@5th and State, they would not let me in without an invite or waiting. I waited but if you would like send me an email thru blogger and I'll send you an invite.

  14. I created an account but haven't contributed yet and I'm not sure I really want to embark on that journey...It just adds another layer of "complicated" to my already overwhelming life. I'm not getting any younger and my somewhat aging brain can't hold as much, lol!

  15. it is complicated alright!!
    i am closing my account.

    thanks for letting me vent!

  16. I agree completely. I have between 10-11,000 pins and have worked pretty hard getting my boards to say something about who I am. I write historical reference books, so the idea plays well into my OCD nature. Try changing your email preferences (link at the bottom of each pinterest email). I was able to eliminate a few hundred emails a day by doing this.

About Renée Finberg

I have been in this business since the age of 22.

I love what I do and cannot imagine my life without Design.

Design Challenges are great.

And because of those challenges

I have imported fine antique pieces from Paris,

Designed and Manufactured Furniture,

Created Fantastic Window Treatments,

And solved all kinds of spatial & architectural issues

With my unique style.

If I can't find it, I create it.

My rooms would make excellent movie sets.

I am a visual, tactile and audio sensitive individual.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.
