Better Than ' Old World Style' - Part l

Perhaps to some, this might be considered over the top. But I think it is divine.
When I look at this I wonder ....
what fabric is being used to coordinate with this subtly colored trim, used on the arm of this chair ?

Even though this might be considered a contemporary shade ...... there it is,
a glorious tassel !!

This last picture is over the top in my eyes.
And much to much for my personal style, but who is to say what is too much for you ?
This is Better Than Old World Style.

  1. I love embroidery and details like that, but I don't like fringe or tassels. The practical architect in me thinks they get in the way and get dusty and dirty -even though they look fantastic!

  2. My fave is the embroidery on the old ancient looking velvet.

  3. It is all about attention to detail, the trims, the flocking, the tassels, the fringe, the embroidery add the word luxury to each piece.

They are not over the top, they are attention to detail.

  5. Over the top? Only when usesd in the wrong setting....beautiful and appropriate in the right setting (which migh mean sparingly).

  6. We need to open our minds to all manner of things in this world Renee, if we don't then we wither on the vine. This is true craftmanship, using sumptuous, gorgeous fabric & trim. A wonderful, enlightening post.

Creating is what I live for, not math, not spelling, not science.

Just Great Design.

Just imagine how it would be if each of us,

If only for a few hours of everyday,We could be in a space that is our very own.A place that is exactly the way we want it to be

Surrounded by all the things we wanted to see,

The atmosphere we wanted feel, smell and the sound we wanted to listen to.
